Glasgow Swing Dance Society Join the Glasgow Swing Dance family and learn the joys of Lindy Hop. A dance born in the 30s and 40s, but danced around the world today to swing and jazz.

We teach beginner Lindy Hop/Charleston/Solo Jazz classes on Friday evenings at 43rd Glasgow Scouts Hall, 4 Holmhead Rd, Glasgow G44 3AS.

7:30pm-8:30pm Fundamentals class
8:30pm-9pm Social dancing/practice

Happy Monday dancers!

Today we have our recap video from our class on Friday.

Ruaridh and Neil shared all thing circular - looking at circles, reverse circles, and a groovy way to redirect!

Back by popular demand, Ruaridh and Neil will be returning to provide more Lindy Hop inspiration for you all! This will be our last class before we take a break next week, so come along and dance with us!

For all you brand new beginners (or if you're feeling rusty!), we have an extra wee mini-class at 7:15pm which will take you through some essential footwork and connection points to help you feel ready and raring to go!

Happy Monday dancers!

Today we have our recap video from our class on Friday.

Sasha and Ruaridh shared some 8-beat and 6-beat rotational moves, including some surprising directions and the classic pop turn. We looked at how to lead these moves considerately and how to actively follow! We covered some challenging concepts and techniques and it was wonderful to see our students rise to the challenge and tackle it head on - you should all be very proud of yourselves!

A huge thank you to everyone who came along for our live band night last week - we had a brilliant time dancing with you to the swinging tunes of the Jack Heavenor Trio 🎶 It meant so much to us to see you all come out and support our new Southside venture!

We'll be back with our usual class and social this Friday!
