1.Take Baby Steps
The key to becoming good at practicing is to be firstly consistent at turning up. Pick the same days of the week after you have finished work or another activity. Every time you finish work on a Wednesday you relate that to going to the driving range. Once you get to the driving range it is very unlikely you will drive back out again, you have taken the first step.
2. Make it Easy
Make it as easy as possible to practice by having a few clubs in the car, golf shoes, a glove and then it helps reduce any friction of having to stop off on the way to get them. This could also be done in a lunch break. If you are somebody who is very busy, practice doesn't always need to be at the range. It could be 10 minutes in the evening twice a week doing some repetitions of what you are working on but make sure you have a club in the kitchen or living room to help make it happen.

If you want real compression, focus on:
✅ Pressure shift to the lead foot
✅ Hips forward + open
✅ Hands ahead of the ball at impact

Want to score like a pro? Start with your wedge matrix.
Tour players don’t guess from 100 yards and in — they have a system. Here's how it works:
🔁 Same wedge. Different backswing lengths.
🕘 9 o’clock
🕙 10 o’clock
🕚 11 o’clock
Each position creates a repeatable carry distance. Most pros map these out with 3–4 wedges (pitching wedge through lob wedge), giving them 9–12 precise yardages.
🔍 Example:
💣 56° wedge
➡️ 9 o’clock = 70 yds
➡️ 10 o’clock = 80 yds
➡️ 11 o’clock = 90 yds
Tour players log this data, practice it regularly, and rely on it under pressure.
✅ No guessing.
✅ No over-swinging.
✅ Just pure control.
Your mission: Build your own matrix. Write it down. Learn the feels. It’s a game-changer inside 100 yards.
📊 Tip: Use a launch monitor or range with markers for accurate numbers.

3 Things you can do to improve your golf this month

1. Getting it on the Green from the Rough from inside 100 Yards From 100 yards out in the rough, forget pin hunting. Your job is to get it on the green and give yourself a putt. This one-shot goal will save you strokes over time. Practice hitting it out the rough, it happens ...a lot....practice it!

2. Check Your Loft and Lies
Clubs can bend slightly over time, especially wedges and short irons. If your loft and lie angles are off, your distance gaps and shot direction can suffer. Get them checked by a professional to ensure your equipment is matched to your swing; it’s a quick fix that can make a big difference.

3. Simple Stats You Can Track to Develop Your Game
Sometimes we don't know where to start when it comes to stats, but here are some nice, easy ones to track that can be really effective in helping identify where you are and monitor your progression.

Penalties from the Tee – Hazards +1 & OB +2
Greens in regulation (GIR) – Helps identify approach play quality.
Number of shots from 30 yards – Helps identify how sharp the short game is.
Putts per hole – Calculate the proximity of the 1st putt and number of putts.

Tracking these over a few rounds reveals patterns and points you toward what to practise next.
