Save Alexandra Park Golf Course

Great to see the golf course has had a quick cut. Makes things much easier for playing 👏

Sadly our golf course has never looked as bad.. The greens are virtually unplayable. Doesn’t look like the golf course will be receiving a pre election spruce up! Not looking good 🙁

Good to see local Dennistoun campaigners stay focused on the importance of making sure all of Dennistoun’s sports venues (including golf) remain open 👍

We had a great meeting with Ivan McKee MSP last week to discuss the Dennistoun Glasgow Life facilities including the pool, library and other sporting venues.

Ivan has shown his continued support to keep us swimming and to ensure Whitehill pool is invested in for future generations.

Next stop Glasgow Life...

Hopefully we'll be back swimming when it's safe to do so!

Great news, golf will be allowed from next week. Please keep a safe distance as you tee off and enjoy. This news will be very welcomed by the many that use our brilliant golf course 👏

Hope all you nice folk are managing to cope with the current crisis. In the next few days lockdown restrictions look like they will ease slightly. Some sports are predicted to be allowed including golf. We can’t think of a better sport than golf for sensible distancing.
Hopefully our park golf course will now be viewed as a huge community sport asset as we try to get back to normal. Stay safe everyone 🏌️‍♀️ 🏌️‍♂️ ⛳️

(((UPDATE))) Alexandra Park Golf Course remains open for now. For the next few months there will be no change regarding the course. We had a constructive meeting tonight with Councillor Casey and Councillor McDougall. Thanks to Friends of Alexandra Park who facilitated a good meeting. 👍
