The Scottish Karate Board of Control was inaugurated in 1973 with the help of the Scottish Council of Physical Recreation, now Sportscotland. In 1990 it changed its name to the Scottish Karate Board (Governing Body for Scotland) and in 2002 changed to the Scottish Karate Governing Body and is the only Governing Body for Karate recognised and grant aided by Sport

Please help Karate Scotland build a strong National Team throughout 2026 and beyond by sending your best athletes along to train with our National Coaches in Para Kata, with an aim to gain selection in the future to represent Scotland at EKF & WKF Events. With your help we can continue to build a strong respected nation on the elite competition circuit.
