On 6th November, we say our final goodbyes to our #1 Jonesy.
What an excellent turnout from everyone to attend the funeral but the Glasgow Irish lads all came out in numbers to pay respects to a great lad and will forever be in our memories.

Everyone who has ever been involved in Glasgow Irish are extremely devestated at the news of the passing of Sean Jones (Jonesy).
Jonesy was a beloved character by all involved at the club and made some special relationships along the years. A real presence in the dressing room and over the many years at Glasgow Irish we had some great memories with night outs, away victories, and also winning a cup final and then getting to the same final a year later.
Jonesy was a vital part in our cup winning team and will be forever in our hearts.
A really sad moment and our condolences go to Jonesys Family and Friends.
A true legend and will be missed.

As many of you know we decided to fold as club on the 28th of July and many of the lads have moved on to pastures new and signed for other Saturday and Sunday sides across the city.
As a collective we have decided to have one last hoorah in Malones Glasgow on Saturday 5th of October and we would like to invite all players and followers of the club to join us in celebrating a club that a lot of people held close to their heart. Doors will be open from 7:30pm and if you are able to make it then please either respond to this post or contact either Richie or Pato

A very hard day today as Glasgow Irish FC have had to make the most difficult of decisions.
We have made the decision to fold as a club, this has not been easy one bit.
But due to lack of new players coming through the door and alot of the club leaving we have tried our very best to keep it going but ultimately after a few weeks of trying, the club has exhausted all avenues to bring in the quality we needed.
At this time we would like to give a massive thanks to Malones Glasgow who have been the best sponsors we have had and been excellent with everything they have done for the Irish.
Honestly the best Irish pub in Glasgow.
Also Dickie Dumps who although was a short sponsor with this decision, have also been amazing with us, so for any rubbish you need taking away or any gardening you need done. Please get in contact with them
The Irish Voice have followed us for years and always kept our triumphs going through the Irish paper in local pubs and online. A great company and wish all the best.
and finally to all players/coaches/board members past and present.
A massive thank you from the club, we wouldnt have the memories or made the friendships or gotten anywhere without you.
You are what made this club what it was.

Glasgow Irish play Eastend Athletic in a friendly at Park Villa Drumoyne 7.45pm ko.
A tough game but a good chance to see some new players.
Then on Sunday 28th July
The Irish are taking part in the Jason Lyons Memorial Trophy Tournament
Which will be held at Nethercraigs 12noon-4pm

Ardrossan Winton Rovers Sunday AFC
2 semi finals played then a final and 3rd/4th place match.
Should be a great day of football.
