Heat exhaustion in dogs is no joke. In hot weather, we really do need to take care of exercising our dogs in case we accidentally cause them to overheat.

So many dogs will keep going even when dangerously hot, and the consequences can be tragic.

Knowing the signs your dog is getting hot can help you make good choices about when you should avoid exercise.

If you are concerned your dog has overheated, follow this simple rule..

✅️ Get wet, then vet.

If your dog is too hot, get them wet with cold water (not ice). This will allow evaporation to start helping them cool and then get urgent advice from your vet.

✅️ It's absolutely fine to let your dog drink cold water if they want it.

Thank you so much to Podencos in Need - PINS for letting me have Max. I'm not sure he's the sensible choice I was planning for but as soon as he stepped out of the car for us to meet him, it was game over.

He's fitted in with my gang of big character dogs so easily we knew he couldn't leave.

Massive thank you to for being so supportive as I take our comfortable life and make it as far from normal as we can get. Thank god you don't mind dog hair on everything and love Max (and all the others) as much as I do.

I love getting to catch up with 1-1 clients. Ruby completed 1-1 puppy training with me and came back for an adolescent 1-1 to polish up on some lead walking skills in distracting environments.

I was so impressed by the work her family have done. We got through so many different training exercises in the hour because Ruby has learned fantastic foundations.
