🎉1 Year of The Ghungroo Academy of Dance🎉

On this special day (12th April), sharing a glimpse from our very first Bharatanatyam performance — a moment that marked the beginning of our journey together.

One year of learning, practice and quiet growth… with so much more ahead. Grateful to everyone who has been a part of this journey. 🙏🌼

Less than a year since its inception, The Ghungroo Academy of Dance shared its first Bharatanatyam presentation at the “Bornalee Shondhya” event by Bengali Performing Arts Glasgow on March 29th 2026.

Students aged 5 to late 30s came together to perform the Dhyana Shloka and the Guru Vandana Shloka. Guided by Kamalika Keya Ghosh, this was a meaningful beginning — with plenty to learn, refine and grow.

Sincere thanks to Bengali Performing Arts Glasgow for the stage and the lovely audience for the encouragement. ❤️

This performance is dedicated to all the dance teachers and mentors of Kamalika, namely Smt. Madhumita Sarkar, late Karnataka Kalashri Dr. B. K. Shyam Prakash, Smt. Esther Sunija and Smt. Nayana Srinivasamurthy. 🙏💐

With gratitude in our hearts, we continue our journey of practice, passion and performance. 🙏

Yesterday marked Priyangi Sarkar’s very first Bharatanatyam solo performance at her school, Netherlee Primary. 🙏

As a Grade 1 student of The Ghungroo Academy of Dance, she has worked hard and showed wonderful dedication in preparation of this special moment. 👏

TGAD is so proud of her and looks forward to supporting her as she continues to grow. 🥰
