On this day in 1936, the Spitfire prototype K5054 had its maiden flight at Southampton Municipal Airport, Eastleigh.
The aircraft was designed and built locally by R. J. Mitchell and his team at the Supermarine factory in Woolston.
The Spitfire would go on to become an iconic symbol in the fight against Na**sm.

Aircraft update. G-ISLY has just completed annual check. Engineers coming up to deal with -G-BSFE which is then due a major check. G-BGIY due service shortly. All other aircraft online with no service due in the immediate future.

Our aircraft rates have been reduced and our block times are now capped at 'airborne + 10 minutes'.
For a limited time we will be offering an additional 10% off our block prices.

These will be valid for 3 months and are intended to help our members get back up to speed after the extended restrictions.
