Hey everyone, we hope you all had the best christmas and new year🥂 as we are now half way through the season it’s time to start our annual STRAVA CHALLENGE 🚶🏽‍♂️‍➡️
This challenge started on January 1st!

👟HOW WE ARE FUNDRAISING👟
The set up this year is the same as last with our 14 committee members will be competing against the rest of the club to see which group can collectively walk and/or run the most miles throughout January. Last year our goal was to walk 1000 miles and raise £800, this year we are setting the bar high to walk 2000 miles and to raise £1000!!! (I really don’t think this will be hard to reach by our team 🤷🏽‍♀️)

🐺WHY WE ARE FUNDRAISING🐺
This year we are raising money to help with club funds (i.e. reducing competition/performance fees, uniform and travelling/accommodation costs, investing in equipment and facilities used for training). With prices substantially higher than normal, funding is more important than ever. We have over
100 members this year, and it is important to reduce financial stress as best as we can to give each member the same opportunities and experiences.

A portion of the money raised will also be donated to our chosen charity for the year, Eilidh Brown Memorial Fund. This charity is close to our hearts at GCU Cheerleading, and the money we donate will assist in helping the foundation.💜

We thank everyone who is generous enough to support our club and our chosen charity and will be greatly appreciated who shares our fundraising 🤞🏽⭐️

It truly is a happy Monday here at GCU Cheer as we can finally announce that thanks to all of the hard work fundraising this season, we have donated £1,000 to our chosen charity 🌟🫶🏼

We are so happy to have raised this much money over the last year & still be able to have the extra money left over to do this! This wonderful charity more than deserves it for the exceptional work that they do 🥹 Thank you to everyone who participated in any of our fundraisers & of course to everyone who donated!!

Excited to announce our annual bake sale will be this Friday 1st of March in the student union 🧁🧁

I’m sure our gals will make the most scrumptious selection of baked goods that you won’t wanna miss!!!🤍

Our final theme of the month is Disney Hero’s and Villian’s 🧞‍♂️🧚🏼
So excited to see what looks you guys come up with and I’m sure we will have a ball 👑 !

🏆 FC UNI NATIONALS 🏆

This weekend we took our girls down to Manchester to compete at university nationals for our first comp of the season! We had a successful & incredibly fun time away together 🤩

The money raised will make such a difference to our club, and be a big contributor to the final sum of money that we get to donate to our chosen charity of the year, at the end of season💜
