No frills, no fuss, JUST RESULTS!

Decided to call round some gyms yesterday to enquire about the knowledge and experience of their trainers/coaches.

Average experience for the PTs - 2yrs working part time hours!

When asked about strength training not one had ever heard of Prelipin!! This is the equivalent of a doctor never having heard of the flu!!

Another said he had heard of an advanced routine called 5x5

Asked 3 different gyms what kind of program they'd give me for power, weight loss and strength. Every single one answer 3 sets of 10 going round the machines!!

Then today I hear of an Olympic weightlifting coach at a high end gym who doesn't sn**ch, doesn't really do clean and jerk and gave a 1hr induction lasting only 35'.

Recent feedback I've also had lately about other gyms is it's too busy first thing in the morning, lunchtime and early evening.

So for your membership you're getting overcrowded gyms where you can't always use the kit you want, with trainers and coaches that have very little to no experience!!

With more and more coaches/personal trainers out there than ever before it can be difficult to identify the ones that know what they're talking about and those that don't.

An easy way to spot an inexperienced coach/trainer is FINISHERS. If they add a finisher in at the end of a workout they are doing this simply to tire you out and make you leave the session feeling that you worked hard so you think you're improving and come back again and again.

A good coach/trainer sees the bigger picture of developing you and improving you week on week rather than just aiming to make you tired.

Want to be tired.... simple, do 1000 burpees.
Want to improve.... seek out knowledgeable a coach/trainer that knows how to structure and create a progressive training plan.

Don't be fooled by fancy chat, motivational posts, and the hardcore approach of killing yourself every session.
