Whether youโre trying to lose weight or drop body fat while keeping lean muscle, you need to be in a calorie deficit.
The approach might differ slightly depending on your goalโbut that fact stays the same.
Tracking your calories is simple.
And itโs not as much of a pain in the arse or time consuming as you probably think.
(And noโyou donโt have to do it forever. Thatโs a post for another day.)
Hereโs a real-life example from this morning:
I usually have two breakfasts:
A protein-based snack before the gym
Then an egg salad post-session
That second breakfast normally includes 4 boiled eggs.
Today I thought:
What if I just used the whites and ditched the yolks?
Hereโs the difference:
Calories
Before: 357 kcal
After (just the whites): 113 kcal

Thatโs a 244 kcal difference
Enjoyment
Honestly? I didnโt really notice the yolks were gone.
Appetite
Still felt full, same as usual.
If I changed nothing else, that tiny tweak saves 1220 calories over 5 days.
That could mean:
Faster fat loss
OR
More room to eat something else later in the day
Once you know your calorie target (loads of ways to figure it out online), you can plan meals around it.
Wee changes lead to big differences.
Go for the easy wins.

You might say (most people do) you want to lose weight, get in shape, or tone up.
Fair enough โ those are goals.
But if youโre honest with yourself, thatโs probably not the real reason youโre here.
What you actually want?
๐ฅ To wake up with purpose again
๐ฅ Positively walk into any room โ not be a dick, just feel confident in yourself again
๐ฅ To look in the mirror and not hate what you see โ or squeeze into clothes that donโt fit
๐ฅ To have energy for the good stuff: time with your kids, your hobbies, your partner, in bed (yes โ that too)
Those are the real wins.
Thatโs what weโre going to build.
Because when your training fits your life...
When your nutrition doesnโt feel like punishment...
When you do the work,Monday to Friday, but hate it then blow it all at the weekendโฆ
Create a plan that finally clicks.
That you enjoy and easily fits into your life
That brings awesome results, that actually stick.
