➑️ Do you warm up?

When I started training years back, I honestly didnt warm up before a session and I was very lucky not to get any injuries

But now I always make sure I put in the time before a session to warm up around 10mins as it can prevent any issues in the future πŸ’₯

These simple exercises before training legs is enough to get the oxygen and blood flow going to the muscles to prevent any injuries

Remember why you started?πŸ€”
This is a long one:

For me it was a way to forget all the bullsh*t that was happening at the time, I had a a toxic break up from an ex and knew that I had to start putting myself first looking after my mental health and wellbeing 🧠

I started running 6 days a week, I had never done any sports in my life but felt much more clarity on what I wanted for the future πŸ™ŒπŸ»

I then got my very first gym membership and went 5x per week training with purpose and really starting to feel the difference. Couple of years later I decided that I wanted to help other people because I knew for sure there were other people out there that needed a kick up the butt like what I needed!

Fast forward 4 years and I'm not only enjoying being a PT with a better understanding of strength training, but I have exactly what I wanted, a beautiful wife who loves and respects me ❀ 2 doggos 🐾 and living my best life with people around me that mean the most πŸ™ŒπŸ»

5 weeks down - 3 to go πŸ₯΅
What have I changed?

1. First thing first is setting realistic expectations.I've been training x3 workouts per week push/pull/legs focus and if I have time I do a 4th workout which is just cardio focused

2. I've been monitoring my calorie and protein intake everyday. Each week dropping calories slowly so that I don't lose any muscle mass - when you drop your food intake your body uses your muscles for energy so the best way to combat that is to ensure your calories drop slowly and keep the protein intake high (everyone's target is different)

3. I'm not going to lie to you or myself about the past 5 weeks, I've had a treat meal every week and it's been worth it! πŸ•πŸ”

TDEE - Total daily energy expenditure
What is it?
Well in a nut shell it's basically the amount of calories that you burn without even realising!
It could be going up and down the stairs 10x per day, running around after a 3 year old or even doing 2hrs of house work.

This is why I don't believe you must hit 10 thousand steps per day because it isn't realistic for alot of people who have a desk job etc. However the best thing that anyone can do is move!

It doesn't matter how you do it - walk with the dog, gardening there's lots of ways to lose body fat its not all about hitting 10k steps per day 🀯

Moving, along side training as simple as 3x per week is enough to to achieve results. With a guidance on how many calories to consume per day all of this can help make you look and feel good πŸ’―
