With the grading season being upon us, we are accepting donations of old belts. The belts being re-used to make tote bags.

The Gateway Centre are making tote bags from old karate belts. They are selling them at £10.00 each with all proceeds going to raise funds for the ‘Friends of Gateway’.

The Gateway Centre provides learning opportunities for adults with autism and complex learning disabilities in the Paisley area. A number of the adults have been attending our weekly Disability Karate Classes for several years.

Please get in touch if you would like to donate some old belts and / or buy a tote bag.

Making Karate accessible for everyone. We have been successfully running specific Karate classes for students with a disability / additional support needs for several years in and around the west end of Glasgow. This is in addition to many of our disabled students participating fully in all our other classes. Our children’s classes are suitable for disabled children and their siblings / friends. Our weekly Children’s Disability Karate Classes are held in the Scout Hall (66 Ripon Drive, Kelvindale, Glasgow, G12 0DY) on a Wednesday evening (6.00 – 6.50pm) and a Saturday morning (9.00 – 9.50am). Our adult classes are suitable for disabled adults and their carer. (There is no charge for carers participating in the class.) Our weekly Adult Disability Classes are held on a Monday morning (10.30 – 11.30 am) in the Antonine Sport Centre (Roman Road, Clydebank, G81 6BT) and on a Wednesday morning (10.30 – 11.30 am) in the Scout Hall (66 Ripon Drive, Kelvindale, Glasgow, G12 0DY). WANT TO TRY KARATE?

We are passionate about ensuring that disabled people have the same access to opportunities as everyone else and sport holds a special place in our hearts.
We are committed to bringing accessible disability friendly sports to West Dunbartonshire. Our first move in this has been to introduce disability karate to the area in partnership with Kugatsu Karate and our class has now been running for 2 years.

Our classes are only £5 per session.

Come along and join us on Mondays for some Karate fun.
