Wonder if this will ever happen again?

This year, coach Euan is President of the University of Glasgow Badminton Club, and coach Mark is President of the University of Edinburgh Badminton Club.

Mark joined the club in 2016 as a player, attended 137 times until 2020, when he started as a coach at the club before heading to Edinburgh. He still helps out over the summer.

Euan joined the club as a coach 18 months ago and is a familiar face to all our players, and led this year's summer camp.

This is a great achievement for both of them, well done, Euan and Mark

Congratulations to our four Division winners. Ansh first-time winning Div 1; Finn Div 2; Advik N Div 4, and Aadhil Div 6. Winning a division is a tough task; the other 30+ club players, I'm sure, will agree.

Thanks again to the organisers and to our band of volunteers... Nizam, Aileen, Scott and for the first time, club member Sam, looking after Div 6.

Last Sunday, the First junior league of the season, 46 Scotstoun players and a good number of volunteers to help things go smoothly. Congratulations to Sam, Ansh, Desmond and Joesph who won their Divisions and gained promotion.

Finished our 5th Summer Camp, 100% full camp every day and some great feedback from the parents. Well done Euan Campbell, who led the camp and to our great team of coaches for making it both hard work and fun.

Very pleased to announce that the club's 5th annual Summer Camp is now open for bookings.

Our final trip to Edinburgh Badminton Academy happened the other weekend. This time, for some of our older players. These take a bit of organising, but are worthwhile from a badminton and a social perspective - the stories from our car pools are building up!
It was an unusual one as we managed to win the match, we hope we can build on this next season.

Well done to our winners from the final doubles junior league of the season, Nathan, Maoyan, Leo, Kayden and Cameron. Most of our 40 players had ten doubles games in a morning, making for a hard-working morning, followed by our usual Sunday squads at 4 pm for many.

Thanks, as usual, to our volunteers who help out, but especially to Denise, who organises all the clubs' entries, which isn't an easy job.

Scotstoun subsidised junior league entries for our players to encourage them to compete this season, we will do it again next season when the league restarts in August.

Congratulations to our Scottish Cup teams, one reaching the quarter-finals and the other the final of the first Scottish Junior Cup team competition. We were disappointed not to win, which says it all, really. There is a full report on Badminton Scotland's news page

Well done to our three Junior League Division winners, Krishna, Sumunth and Cooper. Next up we have two teams in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals on Saturday.

Well done Krishna, Adrain and Aaratrika, Division 1,5,6 winners and to Sumanth, who lost out in Division 2 by just 2 points. Advik, Hugo and Viom made the semi-finals of their divisions. Let's go again on 18th May. Scotstoun had 28 players involved, thank you to our volunteers John, Vikram and Prakash.
