The growing pains of the lotus flower
Growth can be challenging, Spiritual growth is usually scary, giving us more than our conditioned self believes it can handle in some area of life.
I love the quote of Mother Theresa that “I have full faith in God, I just sometimes wish he didn’t have so much faith in me.”
In growth we can be forced out of a previous sense of self and pushed to grow into a new and expansive idea of self, to reach new realisations about our potential and about the mechanics of the universe.
I imagine that the lotus seed lays their comfortably in the mud. Then a subtle discontentment appears and it feels itself being draw towards an unseen light at the surface of the water, leaving behind the dark cold security of the comfortable mud.
This calling forward on our own hero’s journey, partly burns away who we have been conditioned to believe that we are.
Inviting us to develop new understandings, so we can embrace this expansion of self, into new realms of possibility and understanding.
If we want an incredible life we may find that our sense of self is broken appart and put back together again.
Many of us often feel unworthy of our greatest visions, not realising that this ‘self limitation’ is really the only major problem, and we subtly hold high the false idol of our own unworthiness of love, success and happiness.
On this path as our mind becomes healed, stronger and more focused, we start to let go of the years of self imposed negative conditioning that have been holding us back..
These times can feel like a furnace as we are purified by the fire of existence, to become the person we need to become to thrive and live up to our calling.
In life many of us can’t see our limitations as they have become a comfortable part of who we believe that we are.
The path of awakening is a destruction of that internal prison, a pulling appart is it brick by brick, untill we finally start to accept own divinity and light.
Today give yourself permission to shine, to become who and what you already are.
