MATCH REVIEW !!!!!!
Ryan Hall’s men stepped across the white line and decided it wouldn’t be a contest. They dominated every dual and played with an extreme confidence right from the start. Bradley “bagsman” chapman opened the scoring with a well taken goal before the half time break. The second half was more of the same - quick, slick football and after coming of the bench Michael McKenna finished of a great team move to seal the victory!
2-0 win - great start for the thirds! ⚫️⚪️
MATCH REVEIW!!!
Disappointing result for the 2nds on the weekend. Manager Ramie Christie had the boys motivated to take on a Newmills side a division above them. Glenavy flew out of the gates hunting and pressing fantastically to put real pressure on their opposition. Just as Newmills crept back into the game and looked like they would escape unscathed into the break, Ben Wright placed a 26-yard free kick into the bottom corner, giving Glenavy a well-deserved 1-0 lead at halftime. The second half started slower, with both teams trying to feel each other out. Newmills equalized with a fluke set piece midway through the second half. Glenavy continued to dig in and battle throughout regular and extra time, with a few chances for both sides to win it. After a hard-fought penalty shootout, Newmills will go on to the next round.
Unlucky boys, focus back to the league⚫️⚪️.
MATCH REVEIW!!!
First loss of the season for Glenavy at home to Ballyvea. The game started at a frantic pace, with attacks going from end to end like an nba playoff game, forcing Rhys Camlin into making some crucial saves. Numerous stoppages caused the game to have no flow and following a controversial offside call the first half could be labelled “Scrappy” and ended 0-0.
Glenavy started the second half strongly, controlling possession and looking to change the game. However, Ballyvea took the lead with a volley from the edge of the box. Glenavy created a few half-chances through Jordan Anderson but couldn’t find an equaliser, as Ballyvea added two more to seal a 3-0 victory.
Unlucky boys we go again⚫️⚪️
All at Glenavy FC are saddened to hear of the passing of Berry Clokey's Mother, Caroline.
Our deepest condolences go out to Berry and his family at this very difficult time. Thinking of you all and wishing you strength and comfort in the days ahead. May she rest in peace.

💣🚨THE POSITIVE INVESTMENTS!
BEN WRIGHT📸 - Super sub Ben has started the season strong, channeling his inner Lewandowski, with a hattrick off the bench he has started the season on a strong note.
RYAN CASEMENT🎁 - Ryan being one of the cheapest players in fantasy has shown massive upside early on in the season. After coming off the bench and recording two assists, he’s starting to announce himself to the rest of the league . Gareth Bale regen💨
CIARNAN MCKEATING 🪨 - Absolute beast at the back. Many thought he was going to just be a defensive anchor but has already notched a man of the match award and an assist early into the season, proving his worth and that he should be a main stay for the rest of the season.
Let’s go GFC well done to the boys so far.

🚨🚨THE BIG THREE IN FANTASY!!!
LOUIS ‘El MAGO’ STEWART 🪄- the midfeild Magican reminicant of 2017 David Silva, is both the highest scorer so far in fantasy, aswell as the joint most picked player.
EOIN MASTO 🎯- a blend between Beckham and Vidic, he crosses like Vidic and defends like Beckham. He is joint first for most selected player after a great start to the season.
JONNY WRIGHT 🧱- after being a doubt for many due to his G/A tally last season, Jonny started this campaign with a goal, an assist and a man of the match performance. He leads all Glenavy’s players, alongside Louis, for most points aquired. He shall hope to continue his rich run of form.
⚪️⚫️ special thanks to are head coach Chris Thompson for taking the time to create this, all the players fighting for not only the team but also for a little bragging rights.⚫️⚪️
Only one type of points the admin care about tho and that 3+ GFC.

MATCH REVEIW!!!
Where do we start these boys strolled into Annalong and gave them a longgggg day, one they won’t forget for a while, a top bins banger from Ricky Mac and a tidy finish from Paddy Webb saw Glenavy take what was a well deserved lead into the half. Second half same story ten minutes in prime Jonjo Shelvey scored a screamer lobbing the keeper from 25 yards giving Glenavy a controlling lead. Shortly after Big Mic and Ben Wright came off the bench and decided to open the flood gates Mick added a 4th on the 70th minute mark and Ben Wright scored a swift 8 minute hat-trick to pile on the misery, then finally after pulling the strings all day Louis Stewart danced and pranced and scored a magical 8th to put Annalong to the sword.
MOTM- Louis Stewart
Great way to start the season boys come on GFC
MATCH REVEIW!!!
What a performance from 3s the whole team, from the first whistle to the last, it was complete domination with goals from Charlie Grant, Chris Collier and Ross Dougherty im the first half we went into the break in full control. The game finished 4-1 after John Parker finished off a corner with a thumping header.
Good minutes in the tank ahead of the season and good result.
MOTM- Charlie grant
Well done the boys.
FIRST MANAGER QUOTE
Glenavy took a little time to settle, with several absentees forcing new faces into the side and a few players into unfamiliar positions. Once confidence grew, so did our rhythm, and it was Liam Óg Cullen who broke the deadlock on his debut — scoring directly from a corner with a wicked delivery that dropped right on top of the keeper. A brilliant way to announce himself.
Glenavy began to take control, but Caledon levelled from the penalty spot just before half‑time.
Against the run of play, Caledon then went ahead early in the second half, capitalising on a loose ball with a clever finish. Glenavy responded superbly and soon got the equaliser their play deserved, Jonny Wright catching a half‑volley sweetly into the side netting.
Spaces were now opening up, and the Glenavy substitutes made a huge impact. Ryan Farr, introduced in an unfamiliar deeper role, was outstanding — getting on the ball, calming the game, and adding real composure. It wasn’t long before he threaded a perfectly weighted pass through for Jordy Anderson, who finished confidently to put Glenavy ahead.
With momentum fully behind us, Stevie Stewart added a fourth, and Jack Gray capped off another hard‑working performance by scoring the fifth.
A very positive afternoon for Glenavy, securing our first win since returning to Division 1. Man of the Match went to Jonny Wright for an exceptional display in the middle of the park.
