Match Report

The Strollers welcomed Kelty Hearts Rubies to Overstenton this morning in the Lucy Hope League.

The girls have been playing confidently over the last few weeks, with back to back wins and scoring a lot of goals in the process. They were determined to keep this winning streak going.

The match started at a very quick pace, with Strollers attacking straight away and the match was only 4 minutes in when Erin slotted one past the Rubies keeper. The Rubies who are new to the league fought back straight away and equalled the score with some good attacking play. The girls had to take a minute and realise that it was all to play for and 5 minutes or so later Addison done what Addison does and took on a few players before confidently putting the ball into the net. From here Strollers took control of the match and before half time the girls were 5-1 up with a good finish from Ava and 2 GREAT goals from Erin, securing her hat trick. Absolutely amazing performance in front of goal today.

HT 5-1

The second half seen the coaches make a few changes to give girls more game time and try a few new positions. Rubies had some good spells of possession and came close a few times. It took 15-20 minutes of the second half before we scored again and it came from Addison who had some good build up play and scored to make it 6. The girls really pushed and pushed and were outstanding. The match was rounded off by a fantastic goal from Addison, scoring another hat trick. A fantastic game of football to be involved in, this team are really going places and we are proud of each one them.

Addison - Controlled the left hand side of the pitch and didn't put a foot wrong throughout the game, topping it off with a hat trick.

Before our match against Dundee East today both teams observed an impeccable minutes silence in memory of young Archie Sinclair who sadly lost his battle with cancer. Some of our girls knew Archie well and could not speak highly enough about him. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time. ❤️

MATCH REPORT

Glenrothes Strollers U14 Girls returned to league action on Saturday morning as they took on The Swifts Stars in sunny, warm conditions at Overstenton.

Strollers got off to a flying start, with Addison Cunningham opening her account within the opening minutes. A quality ball from Mylo McNaughton found Addison at the edge of the box, and she showed great composure to beat a defender before firing into the bottom corner.

That early goal settled the team, and from there Strollers completely dominated the first half with some excellent football and a flurry of goals. Erin Conway showed great striker’s instinct to pounce on a rebound and double the lead. Addison then added two more with trademark runs and clinical finishes to complete her hat-trick. Not to be outdone, Erin grabbed her second with another sharp finish, before Addison added her fourth just before half-time.

It was an outstanding first-half performance, with quality all over the pitch and some brilliant passages of play.

The second half saw a few changes, with the coaching team experimenting and giving players opportunities in new positions—all of whom adapted really well. To their credit, The Swifts started the half strongly and applied more pressure, eventually pulling a goal back.

However, it was always going to be Strollers’ day. Addison continued her incredible performance with a powerful run and composed finish for her fifth. Erin then completed her hat-trick with a well-taken goal after great movement in the box.

Ava Hancock capped off a dominant midfield display with a superb strike from the edge of the box—fully deserved after controlling the game throughout. The scoring was rounded off by Addison, who grabbed her sixth in spectacular fashion, picking the ball up at halfway, beating four players, rounding the keeper, and finishing calmly—an outstanding goal to complete a remarkable individual display.
