π GA v Kelty Hearts Whites βͺοΈ
A wet night down at Duloch for both teams as we headed into the final week of 9 a sides.
We started the game off very brightly and could have taken the lead within about 20 seconds, after debutant Lewis Doig had a chance to open the scoring.
Both teams were trying to knock the ball about on a slick surface.
We made the break through after ball over the top from Layton found Lewis Doig, who took a touch to send Eddie through to round the keeper ππ»
A lack of concentration after a throw in allowed Kelty to draw back level.
5 mins before the break we took the lead once more after direct wing play from Rio found Oscar to tap in at the back post ππ»
The second half started more of the same with both teams playing well. We extended the lead after a beautiful through ball from Oscar allowed Eddie to round the keeper again and pass the ball home π₯Ά
Kelty would come again and manage to grab themselves another goal, however that would be the end of the scoring as we managed to see out the game.
We made the game a little more difficult for ourselves but credit to the Kelty lads who got the ball down and kept playing the right way. One of the best footballing sides we have faces this season π€

π Glenrothes Athletic 4-3 Dunblane SCπ΅
Another dabble into 11s as we welcomed Dunblane to Gilvenbank for a friendly match.
The boys seemed to adapt brilliantly to the bigger pitch and change in formation as we got off to a flyer.
We started brightly making most of our possession count. Layton with an exceptional lofted pass over the top sent Eddie bearing down on gaol to finish past the keeper to make it 1-0 π₯Ά
Our opponents started to come back into the game however we managed to find a second to calm the nerves. Great play by Oscar on the wing saw him dance past a couple of defenders before drilling a low cross into the box. Eddie was on hand to take a touch and turn the defender firing into the net to make it 2-0 ππ»
Dunblane managed to pull a goal back before Layton would send another excellent ball through to Kyle to found himself clear and made no mistake with the finish to make it 3-1 ππ»
Dunblane would pull a goal back before the interval as we headed in 3-2 up.
The second half was not our finest performance of late, as we struggled to really get going and failed to match our opponents in most areas of the pitch.
However Layton managed to extend our lead after a fine solo effort, after a lovely pass from Harris McC put him in on the defense, he then beat a couple players in the box before squeezing the ball into the far bottom corner. 4-2 ππ»
A rocket of a free kick from the edge of the box from Dunblane reduced the deficit by one. 4-3.
There would be no further goals as we seen the game out πͺπ»
Some words at full time on what we need to work on heading into the final games of the season. We werenβt at our best today but we came away with the win.
Massive thank you to our opponents to making the early morning trip down π€

βοΈ | Away Days - Wednesday 27th May
Another day, another big game for the GA lads. Our rearranged home fixture took place at Pitreavie as we took on Dunfermline.
As always between the sides the games are very close and we expected the game to be no different.
We started off very brightly with an excellent opening 10/15 minute spell. We made the breakthrough, yet again from the combination of Eddie & Layton. Layton pressing high and nicking the ball from the defender to play in Eddie, who quickly got his shot away and left the keeper no chance ππ»
Dunfermline then came back and took control, and finding an equaliser. However we managed to regain the lead before half time, as Eddie pressed the keeper, forcing the error, and then was brought down for a penalty. He dusted himself off and slotted past the keeper to give is the lead going in at HT.
The second half the game was still balanced but the GA boys were clinical in our chances and limiting Dunfermline to very little.
Goals from Oscar, after Rio released him on the left, showed incredible feet, dancing his way into the box and firing low past the keeper π₯
The short corner king, Layton, got the ball and drove into the box smashing home from a tight angle to leave the keeper no chance π
A very positive result against a very good opponent, and excellent that the boys are starting to get some recognition for all of their hard work ππ»
Thank you to Dunfermline for the competitive game as always π€
