Having a wee holiday,after my daughter's wedding celebrations, here in Lake Garda.

Still on a high and loving being here in this beautiful and calm part of the world. The far east still has my heart but this is a close runner up with the added advantage of being a short flight away.

What a day ❤️@

As an authorised celebrant in Scotland, I’ve had the privilege of conducting hundreds of ceremonies but marrying my own daughter Jade-Marie to my new son in law Scott in beautiful Edinburgh really was such a special day.

It was such an emotional, love-filled day. Jade-Marie looked absolutely stunning as I knew she would and the whole ceremony felt so personal, peaceful, fun and full of heart. There were lots of tears, including mine, and lots of laughter too.
Jade-Marie and Scott wrote their own vows and kept them secret from each other until the ceremony. Hearing them for the first time was incredibly moving. Their words were just beautiful and I honestly struggled to keep it together and to be honest I didn't, I was so tearful and emotional. Although I had read them a few times and thought I had exhausted my tears, I was wrong, I just couldn't help it.

At one point I completely stepped out of my celebrant role and just spoke as Mum about Jade-Marie growing up and yes the tears started again. Then I spoke on behalf of Scott's mum sharing lovely memories of him as a child too. There were tears everywhere.

And when I finally pronounced them husband and wife, everyone burst into cheering and applause ❤️

A day I’ll never forget and a memory I’ll treasure forever. So proud. So happy. So emotional.

Congratulations Jade-Marie and Scott. A beautiful day for the most beautiful couple. You both deserve every happiness in life.
