✨ International Women’s Day 2026 ✨

Today we celebrate the amazing women and girls in the Team ICON family.

It is a privilege to watch these girls working hard, supporting each other, and showing us time and time again what it looks like to chase their dreams… with plenty of room for singing, dancing, and playing inbetween 🌈

Keep being the amazing young women you are and never forget there are no limits to what you can achieve 🌟

Team ICON’s first competition of the year was a biggie. For the first time, Team ICON travelled with 27 ICON Taekwon-Do competitors to Mechelen, Belgium for the renowned Flander’s Fields Open European Championships. 🇧🇪

And what a trip it was…
🥇 Our first ever champion FELICITY KIDD - Gold in ages 5-7 years sparring.
Complimented by 🥈 10 silver medals and 🥉 8 bronze medals - all won thanks to the dedication and commitment of the squad over the last few months.

Our squad placed 16th out of 54 teams and FOURTH in UK. 🤩

We had a fantastic time. Thank you to the organisers Pascal Dana Raeijmaekers Stokhof for the warm welcome and the excellent friendly, safe, and FUN competition experience.

The competition marks a brilliant start to the year - And only the beginning for Team ICON’s 2026 calendar and beyond to our international competition journey.

Our fabulous hard-working students are at Morrison’s in Glenrothes today, helping out with bag-packing and spreading some festive cheer. 🎄

They are hoping to raise money towards their travel costs for their competition in Belgium in February 🇧🇪

If you need to pick up any shopping or you are in Morrison’s please choose to use the regular checkouts and say hello to our students and hear more about their fundraising.

Yesterday, some of our team competed in Derby at the British University Taekwondo-Do League Junior British Championships 🇬🇧 Thanks to our hosts for an excellently managed event!

For the first time in Team ICON’s history - each and every competitor placed at the competition, the vast majority placing in both events. 🥇 🥈 🥉

Not only did we excel at the competition and get masses of praise on technique and talent, but we had both officials and parents/ coaches of other clubs approaching us to compliment our team’s sportsmanship, their behaviour and manners. This is the most important achievement for our squad and the feedback I am most proud of as coach. 🥋

Our squad came up against unique challenges, such as competing against WT (Olympic-style) Taekwon-Do fighters which pushed our squad to their limits in terms of their training and their ability to compete against this, as well as their perseverance and self-control in the face of challenging decisions.

The competition marks an end to the 2025 season - The next time we hit the mats will be in February in Belgium. Bring on the next challenge! 🇧🇪

Thank you to LCD Taekwondo and all other supporting clubs for the excellent experience our students had at the LCD Team Championships on Saturday.

We entered 3 small teams who prepared in around a week, our senior girls achieved first in their category 🥇 , and the junior girls achieved third in their category 🥉. The boys, who lost a member due to our Lucas unfortunately breaking his wrist, also did a great synchronised pattern performance.

There were various successes when the teams were then split up to work in groups with students from other Taekwon-Do schools in the sparring, special technique, and board-breaking events.

We look forward to training for more team events, great first experience for Team ICON!
