A lot of our Strollers girls, coaches and parents entered the Glenrothes 4K fun run this morning, defying tiredness from matches on Saturday and sitting up for the Scotland match. All to raise funds for the Strollers. 💪🏃♂️
A superb shift.👏

Player of the tournament - Grace 🤩
A trip away for the girls to Pitlochry didn’t bring the results or the score line we might have wanted. However in between the showers the girls appeared to enjoy themselves, and worked hard in unfamiliar positions for short games. The lack of goal keeper brought new nerves, laughs and a few nutmegs which was reflected in the results.
The Magenta’s walked away from Pitlochry with the Fair Play award. 🤩🏆

13/6 St Andrews & East Neuk U12s Sky -
Glenrothes Strollers Reds
A strong performance from the girls this morning. With only 1 sub available, their fitness levels stood out.
First half saw some really good passing and movement from the girls. Jess and Georgia on the wings caused problems with Olivia, Eden and Isla in midfield showing grit to win the ball and move it about. Birthday girl Myla up front chased every ball down and got the first goal thanks to an assist from Amelia.
Georgia added a second before half time with Amelia also letting fly from distance only to be denied by a good save from the St Andrews keeper.
The defensive trio of Victoria, Hannah and Amelia were good and sniffed out everything that came their way. 1st half keeper Penny cleared her lines well when she had to.
2 second half goals from Myla and another from Georgia completed the scoring. Olivia went in goals for the 2nd half allowing Penny to run at the St Andrews defence causing problems.
The girls were really strong today.
Overall, a brilliant performance from the girls who are all playing really well together just now. They should all be really proud of their performances.

Sat 6/6: Magentas - Blue Brazil
A battling display by the girls against able opponents resulted in an even match. The girls passed well and continue to build a good understanding as they look towards 9-aside.
Next weekend the girls look to transfer all they've learned to the Pitlochry Festival. Fingers crossed for good weather 🌞

Sat, 6/6: Blairgowrie u11s - Strollers Reds
A great performance by the girls under gloomy skies.
From the start the Reds had a lot of possession without quite making the breakthrough. Shots bobbled, were intercepted or picked up by the opposition keeper after incisive play. While the game was largely played in the Blairgowrie half, Hannah, Eden and Victoria cleared their lines effectively to deal with a few Blairgowrie forays forward, and protecting captain Penny's goal. Penny once more proved her ability to play any position well, as she cleared her lines when required. Indeed, the passing out of defence to initiate fresh attacks was impressive throughout.
Eventually the girls' pressure was rewarded with an opener, as Ailbhe clipped beyond the keeper from a Myla assist. With only one sub today the Reds' work-rate was superb. Olivia, Ailbhe and Isla in the midfield put in a power of work to disrupt, break up play and play telling passes. Georgia and Jess benefitted from a lot of these passes and time and again they were involved in entertaining battles with capable opponents as they created down the wings. In the 2nd half especially this threat down the flanks was only redoubled as Victoria got her skates on and ran the length of the park delivering teasing crosses from the right.
Myla, Isla and Georgia took it in turns up front to feed off the team's creativity. Myla's running was superb today as she repeatedly closed down defenders as Blairgowrie tried to play out from the back. Eventually they resorted to more goalkicks.
It was unsurprising that further goals followed. Georgia's fearlessness was rewarded as she notched past the keeper from an Olivia assist. Then Jess's tenacity and footwork saw her turn a couple of opponents and chip the keeper into the top right corner. The quiet perfectionist clearly didn't believe the ball was far enough into the corner as she repeated the feat a couple of minutes later.
Late on, as the girls began to tire, Blairgowrie had some pressure and notched from inside the box with a shot which Penny had no chance with. A fair enough reflection of the balance of possession overall.
An awesome display again today from the Reds.

Strollers Reds - Dundee West Yellows
A feast of goals at Overstenton this morning, with some really good passing from the girls.
Ailbhe and Myla got the team off to a positive start. Ailbhe's strength and running power was causing the opposition defence problems and, collecting the ball from a Shelbie kick, she drove from her own half before opening the scoring. Ailbhe turned provider as Myla notched from inside the area.
The pace of Victoria and Jess's tenacity were causing trouble on the flanks and, while Dundee West did pull a goal back, it was no surprise when the Reds scored again as the ball went in off an opposition player. With Olivia complementing Ailbhe's grit with some weighted passes towards Myla and out wide, the opposition defenders were kept busy.
Evie whipped in a couple of good crosses as the girls went searching for further goals. At the back, Hannah, Eden, Evie and Amelia coped with most of the Dundee attacks. Still, at times Dundee West were lively coming forward and Shelbie pulled off a couple of smart saves.
Into the 2nd half, with no subs, our opposition understandably could have tired in the heat. Still, credit to Dundee West, who contributed further goals of their own. For our part, Strollers Reds scored through the speedy Georgia, Jess, Penny and Ailbhe. Some of the neat triangles of passing in the centre of the park were a joy to watch.
It was good to have the flexibility to bring Shelbie out of goals for the last ten minutes, with her direct play on the right wing further stretching tiring defenders. Penny, in turn, made a couple of important interventions during her spell in goals.
