Ever used a pigment and felt like you just can’t see it in the skin? 👀

You’ve adjusted your machine speed, changed your hand speed, played around with your needle hang… and still, not much seems to be happening.

Sometimes, it’s not your technique.
You may have simply chosen the wrong pigment for the job.

This was something I had to learn. I used to be scared of reaching for darker, richer lip blush pigments because I worried the healed result would be too dark.

So I’d play it safe… and sometimes make the job much harder for myself.

Depending on the natural lip colour, skin tone and what you’re trying to achieve, you may actually need that extra depth and strength in your pigment choice to get the colour to show up beautifully in the skin.

Of course, technique matters

And if darker colours make you nervous, trust me… I’ve been there too🫶🏻👀

She’ll now go away and complete her case studies, with every single one receiving my full feedback and guidance.

And once those case studies are complete? My support doesn’t disappear.

If I could go back and speak to the girl who took her very first SPMU training course, I’d have SO much to tell her…

I trained in Lip Blush & Brows years ago, full of excitement and thinking one course was going to teach me everything I needed to know.

The truth? I lost my way for a while.
I stopped investing in further education. I lost direction, got comfortable and thought I’d somehow just figure the rest out as I went.

Then last year, I had a proper sit-down with myself and got really clear on where I wanted to take my business and the artist and educator I wanted to become.
So I went ALL IN!

I invested in my education. I learnt everything I possibly could. I refined my techniques, questioned the way I did things, practised, evolved and completely fell in love with mastering my craft.

And now I want to give the girl sitting where I once was the start I wish I’d had.

I’m levelling up my education era. 🎓
