A view I thought I might never see again....

Might be as far as we get, might be the start of something..... but judging by the speed B shot down the drive the minute I clipped the lines on - he's not ready to retire just yet!!

4.5 months. 2 operations. Countless dressings and enough sedation to put an entire population to sleep....

Finally, we are out of a boot. Packed with Red Horse Products artimud and ready for the final stages of healing (and a very good hoof trim from Cat Redwood Equine Podiatrist !!)....

Not out of the woods as it still has to harden off. But a huge step forward in recovery from the most awful time we've had.

Next up, both of us getting our fitness back with some serious longlining!

While B continues with his long road to (hopefully) recovery, I'm installing 'self loading mode' into 4 year old Mr C....

Easier to do now than have an argument every time we go out! He now walks on, eats quite happily with ramp and bars in place, now just to shut the top door....

And then he can do his first trip round the block with big brother!

Might not be quite how we saw our summer, but he's still here and I'll take that for now. Love this boy to bits and hope he has one of his nine lives left x

Last night at home (again) before another trip to Wright & Morten Equine Clinic for B. Hoping we can find a way to clear the infection in his foot which has broken through oral antibiotics.

Send us all your hopes and good thoughts while we try to find a way forward. A thousand thanks to Sarah Wright who is giving up her day to take us while I can't drive the Bus.

Bit of pre season fun today....

How tall are my ponies?! I've never measured either of them before and did it today with the help of a friend's stick....

So, how tall is B? What about baby C?

And a bonus point (delayed til he's 7, so 3 years from now) for anyone who correctly guesses C's final height!

We might not be doing much in 2026 but we did join our friends in Endurance GB - Derbyshire Group for the Emerald Green Feeds Winter League!!

Our group topped the standings and got a mega 30 members submitting their forms.... Such a great way of keeping the motivation through the cold months and hopefully we'll be able to do some in hand work for next year, even if I can't ride then ❤️

8 days post my surgery and 17 days from his..... he is *definitely* making the faster recovery!

Really hoping I can figure out a plan to get him fit and running again over this season and into the winter -.I'm 9 months (minus 8 days) from being allowed into the tack again and he really will be bored by that time!

Anyone got recommendations for a good summer fly repellant that comes in a gel or cream?

B *will not* tolerate a spray. For midges Naf Extra Effect is awesome but its not great on bigger flies in midsummer.

We currently use a spray onto a cloth onto him but wondering if there is a better option
