What a game. Two evenly matched sides, a bobbly pitch, gusty winds and a winner that came right at the death. Football doesnโt get much more dramatic than that!
๐ด๐จ๐ป๐ช๐ฏ ๐น๐ฌ๐ท๐ถ๐น๐ป
Yorkley started the game on the front foot, and although the first chance fell to Harrow Hill, we really should have found ourselves 2โ0 up early on, with Danny Hudson missing two excellent opportunities to put us ahead.
Harrow Hill A eventually took the lead following a midfield challenge that went unpunished. In fairness, the tackle did win the ball, but the follow-through certainly still hurts! Their forward made no mistake with the finish, putting the home side in front.
Yorkley continued to push, with Daunte Davis producing a couple of dangerous set pieces that tested the goalkeeper. Captain Dan Baldwin came agonisingly close to finding the equaliser, only for some heroic defensive work from the Harrow Hill centre-half to deny him.
๐จ SECOND HALF
With the wind now behind us, it felt like a Yorkley goal was coming. We pinned Harrow Hill back for long periods, although they remained dangerous on the counterattack. Thankfully, we managed to deal with their breaks relatively well and continued to look for a way back into the game.
And eventually, the breakthrough came!
โฝ DANNY HUDSON | 1โ1
After missing two good chances earlier in the game, Danny made amends in style, lobbing the onrushing goalkeeper with the outside of his boot. A touch of quality when it mattered! ๐
With both teams continuing to create opportunities, the game had all the makings of a match that simply wasnโt going to finish level.
๐งค LUKE ENGLAND
In a game of half chances and tricky conditions, goalkeeper Luke England made a tremendous save down low to his right and with the help of Daunte Davis they kept the ball from entering the Yorkley net which surely would of gave all 3 points to Harrow hillโฆ
But then came the momentโฆ

With just a couple of minutes remaining, the old boy Ian Norris showed all his years of experience, calmly slotting away a long ball from Olie Baldwin to send Yorkley into the lead.
A late winner. Three points. Scenes. ๐ต๐ก๐ฅ

A thoroughly entertaining and evenly contested game throughout, with both teams having to contend with a bobbly pitch and challenging gusty conditions.
Credit to Harrow Hill AFC A, who played their part in a fantastic game of football. We wish them all the best for the remainder of the season and look forward to welcoming them to Yorkley Recreation Ground for the return fixture.

On a final note, our thoughts are with the Harrow Hill goalkeeper, who suffered a knee injury during the second half.
