In a game that for the most part, was played in great spirit and had a bit of everything, from wonder saves to your typical “was he offside or not?” arguments 😂 unfortunately, the game ended early following an injury to a Yorkley AFC player.

Pre-season is never really about the result, it’s about what you get out of the game. As Yorkley AFC manager, and someone who has been involved in Forest football my entire life, I want to say how much respect we have for Blakeney Reserves after today.

The genuine concern and care they showed towards our injured player was outstanding. Sometimes football can be tainted by so much negativity, but today restored my faith that there are still some great clubs and, more importantly, great people within them.

Thank you again to Blakeney Football Club AFC for your hospitality after the game too. We wish you all the very best for the season ahead.

The wait is over… today marks the start of our 2026/27 pre-season as we welcome Ruardean United FC to the Yorkley Recreation Ground!

After weeks of hard work in training, it’s finally time for the lads to get back out on the pitch. Pre-season is all about building fitness, welcoming new faces, and laying the foundations for what promises to be an exciting season.
