Facia, movement and the vagus nerve:
A really interesting read. We tend to work with Fascia most in Yin Yoga, but all Yoga works with awareness of the body, breath and the mind-body connection……..And, if you need a reminder to do some movement every day have a look at the linked video “The Fuzz Effect”!
Fascia and the Vagus Nerve: Enhancing Embodiment | Dr. Arielle Schwartz
Fascia plays a key role in your resilience. You nourish fascia and the vagus nerve with sensory awareness, conscious breathing, and movement.

And this is what Yoga helps us to learn 💕
To be in balance does not mean to hold in tightness all that would move.
⚖️
To be in balance means to be at peace with the world ad it spins around you.

I have felt so behind the curve in my studying for the past month that I have lost one of the things I love the most - my yoga practice. My body is telling me in all kinds of ways that I need to get it back and one of these ways I believe is inflammation from stress! Time to be kind to myself and weave some yoga in to my day …. And if I tell you I am going to do it… I will 😊🧘🏻♀️
Did you know that your yoga practice may be reducing chronic inflammation and slowing down your body’s aging? Chronic inflammation has been so closely associated to accelerated aging that a term was coined to link the two: inflammaging. Mechanical stresses and mental relaxation that occur during your yoga practice have been found to moderate and even stop many of the causes of inflammaging. No wonder your friends tell you that you look so good! There is a lot more to yoga than maintaining flexibility!

Autumn Equinox today. This is the time when the sun is directly over the equator and we have equal night and day. According to my Almanac it will happen at 19.21 tonight! Evenings will begin to draw in and we will have less light, so time to get out the candles, Vitamin D if you don’t already take it, and if you are affected by the seasons a SAD lamp can be a huge help.

For those of you that don't know, this September I will be going back to University to study Physiotherapy! Something I wanted to do as a child and have been brought back to through my practice of Reflexology and Yoga.
As I won't be able to commit to providing a weekly practice for you all, I am going to offer a once a month practice on a Sunday evening. This will be something to help you relax and set-up for the week ahead and will most likley include practices such as Yin Yoga, Yang to Yin, Therapeutic and Yoga Nidra.
I have set up an Online Private Group which you can become a member of. Each months practice will go out live, and then for the next month you will be able to find the recording in the group so that you can practice at a time that suits you, or repeat the classs if you would like.
This month we will be doing an Autumn Yin Practice and it will be on Sunday 19th September at 5.30pm. It is £6 to join for this month.
If you would like to join for the Autumn Yin Practice just drop me a message and we can begin.
I look forward to seeing you! Jx

There are a number of benefits gained from a Yin style yoga. This is one of the physical. 🧘🏻♀️
So why would Yin Yoga advocate stretching connective tissue? Because the principle of all exercise is to stress tissue so the body will respond by strengthening it. ~ Paul Grilley 👌
