A huge thank you to everyone who came along to Whittington Park YFC’s Presentation Day today at Dowty Sports & Social Ltd. It was fantastic to see so many players, parents, families and supporters celebrating a brilliant season together 🎉

A massive congratulations to all of our children for their hard work, commitment and fantastic attitude throughout the season. You should all be incredibly proud of yourselves! 👏🏼 👏🏼

A special well done to all of our award winners for Coach’s Player, Parents’ Player, and Most Improved Player. Every award was thoroughly deserved, and your dedication and effort throughout the season has been outstanding 🏆🥇

A big thank you to our fantastic food vendors, Gumbie’s Wood Fired Pizza and Grumpy Grandpa Durty Burgers and Mr Whippy Ice cream van for keeping everyone fed and helping make the day even more enjoyable🍕 🍔 🍦

A huge thank you as well to King of the castles - bouncy castle hire for providing the brilliant bouncy castles and entertainment that kept the children smiling and having fun throughout the day.

Finally, a huge thank you to all of our coaches, volunteers and parents for your continued support and commitment. We couldn’t do it without you 🙌🏼

Today, we celebrate all the amazing dads and father figures who make grassroots football so special.

To every dad, stepdad, grandad, foster dad, adoptive dad, guardian, and all those who take on a fatherly role – thank you for the lifts to training, the touchline cheers, the muddy boots in the car, and the endless support you give both on and off the pitch.

Your encouragement, dedication, and love help our players grow and make our club the family it is.

⚽️ WPYFC U11 - Hucclecote Tournament ⚽️

Today was the first time these boys had properly played together as a team, and you could see that in the opening game. That said, it never stopped them giving their all and competing with great spirit.

As the day went on, they grew stronger, more unified, and worked together brilliantly. Reaching the Plate quarter-finals and facing one of the strongest CYL Division 1 sides—fresh from winning the Longlevens Tournament the previous week—could have been an intimidating challenge. Instead, the boys rose to the occasion, stepped up another level, and gave an outstanding account of themselves. They matched their opponents every step of the way and showed tremendous character throughout.

A penalty shootout followed, which is never easy for any team, but the boys held their nerve brilliantly. Coming through that test was a huge moment and a personal triumph for several of the players.

In the semi-final, the effort and energy they had poured into the day understandably began to take its toll. They battled hard and stayed in the contest, but eventually came up against a well-organised counter-attacking side and just couldn’t quite find a way through.

I’m incredibly proud of how they performed today. They kept going, never let setbacks affect them, and showed resilience, determination, and togetherness from start to finish. For their first outing together, I genuinely couldn’t have asked for more.

Well done to every one of them—they should be extremely pleased with what they achieved today. They certainly caught a few people’s attention too, with more than one team asking, “Who is this team?” 🙌🏼

⚽️ WPYFC U6 Hucclecote Festival of Football ⚽️

Where to start! The weather was amazing, the players were buzzing, the parents were fully stocked and equipped, and the coaches were kitted out.

Every single player can come away from that tournament knowing that they gave 110% across all 6 matches. No one's heads went down if the results weren't going our way, and they showed that we will battle right to the final whistle.

This was our first tournament and our first set of matches against such a wide variety of teams, and everyone was simply exceptional today.

⚽️WPYFC U5 Training Session⚽️

Fantastic session today. All players did brilliantly well, especially with the high humidity.

Great start with green light red light. With the focus on the players keeping the ball close to feet.

We swiftly moved on to our focus activity, shooting. We had some great goals and both my goalkeepers did really well. Shout out to them, Jasper G and Henry.

We then moved into matches. The older players played a slightly different format. We played 2v2 but with 4 goals and teams. The idea is to give the players more options to score and think about using all areas of the pitch. As always great to see 100% commitment.

The younger players did 2v2 with Coach Callum. He's really impressed with the progression the players are making. Keep up the good work.

He had a great week. I was really pleased with his focus to follow commands. He was brilliant during the matches and his dribbling was excellent today. Keep up the great work.

He is going from strength to strength. His shooting was awesome today. Really please how he is progressing. Well deserved.

Well what a lovely morning. We did our usual ball skills and also our new fitness session to get our players moving and working on our football muscles before we go straight into matches.

It was a different style of session mainly due to sponsors Murdoch and Wasley coming down to present the kits and see our teams.

We also need to thank our away sponsors Nick Browns Butchers who are sponsoring our alternative/away kit.

I really hope the players enjoy their kits and numbers and their first outings will be next week at our first ever Tournament.

⚽️WPYFC U5 Training session⚽️

** 13 Jun 26 **

Excellent session today. We did a quick warm up to get the players moving and following commands.

We moved onto our focus activity. With several players showing an interest in playing in goal we did a pass and shoot drill. This drill allowed us to use the passing techniques we have been focusing on and bringing it together with shooting. The players did really well. Some excellent goals and some even better saves. Shout out to my goalkeepers, Fox, Lonzo, George and Ozzie. They all did superb. Well done. All the players demonstrated good listening whilst following my instructions.

We ended the session with matches. Some great match ups today. The shooting practice paid off as there were some exceptional finishes. Well done everyone.

Today Jasper showcased some brilliant dribbling with close ball control, which he combined with excellent shooting. What I liked more was that he was brining in his team mates into his attacks to help everyone contribute. Well done Jasper

Another player that really excelled in the shooting drill. Coach Callum was really impressed with his communication and dedication today. He was 100% committed in everything he did. Well done Israel, continue your impressive work.
