Cranham Cricket Club

An excellent day’s work for Cranham yesterday, coming home with 18 points after a 7 wicket victory away at Kingsholm 2nds.
Winning the toss and choosing to bowl, Cranham got off to a steady start, with Hamed picking up the first wicket, well caught by Max. Ollie Cooper picked up the second, but KCC were well placed at 64-2 at 14. James and Dawood then took complete control, bowling their 16 overs straight through for a combined 2 wickets and just 14 runs. James finished with the remarkable figures of 8 overs, 2 wickets and just 4 runs conceded, while Dawood didn’t concede a run off the bat in his first 5 overs! Excellent run outs from Will and Theo helped restrict Kingsholm to 138.
In reply, a quickfire 50 from Theo, and excellent contributions from Joey and Benn saw Cranham reach the target with 15 overs to spare.
Next week sees us face Sheepscombe at home. Any support welcomed!

For anyone who hasn’t visited yet this year - there are lots of changes behind the bar. Charlie has worked really hard to put on a new range of drinks, to add in a new tablet to work out payments and to work out a 10% discount for members! We still need volunteers behind the bar on various occasions, so please consider joining us for one of the training sessions below.

With Hamed scoring a first league century yesterday and Eddie taking his first league 5 wicket haul, it seems apt to dig out the record books and make our own version of the Lord’s honours boards.
These are the top batting and bowling performances since league cricket began in 2007.
