🖐️ STANDOUT PERFORMANCE

🔥 Matt Cramp took 5/20 in just 3.5 overs for the 2nd XI in their final league game of the season and victory over Lingfield

🚌 Like London buses, having recorded his first ever 5fer the week before, Matt took a second 5fer in as many weeks, which also meant that he returned figures to 10/38 over the course of the final 2 games of the season

👏 Matt shot up the bowling ranks over the past 2 weeks and ended the season with 19 league wickets in 58 overs, at an average of 18

🔝 TOP PERFORMANCES | WEEK 18

Here’s a roundup of the best performances from the final round of Saturday league games last weekend

WITH THE BAT…
⭐️ Having missed the past 5 weeks, Archie Howard returned with a bang for the 2nd XI, hitting an excellent 74 off just 60 balls, which included 8 fours and 4 sixes
• Matt Blunt hit a crucial 38 off 37 balls, top scoring for the 1st XI and contributing to an excellent run chase
• Archie Burrows struck 33* off 34 to help get the 1st XI over the line against Mayfield and record a final victory for the 2026 season
• Rob Mouland hit 61* from 50 balls in an excellent knock that helped see the 2nd XI post a mammoth 295
• Stan Stoneham finished his debut season in the 2nd XI with another good contribution of 43 from 43 balls.
• Matt Cramp helped get the 2nd XI innings off to a flyer as he struck 41 from 25 balls.
• Felix Moore was the main contributor, hitting 31 runs, in a low-scoring final innings of the season for the 3rd XI

WITH THE BALL…
⭐️ Matt Cramp recorded a second successive 5 wicket haul for the 2nd XI, meaning he recorded remarkable figures of 10/38 in the final 2 games of the season.
• Will Burton-Durham rounded off his season with another 3 wickets, meaning he ended the season as the leading wicket taker in Division 3 East with 37 wickets
• Callum Smith picked up another couple of wickets as he took 2/56 to round off his season with the ball
• Louis Barron took an early wicket and closed out the innings well to return excellent figures of 22/1 off 8 overs
• Zak Barber picked up figures of 2/59 in his final 8 overs of the season
• Wyatt Watson returning economical figures of 1/38 off 8 overs in the context of a high scoring match

Well done to everyone who contributed to the club’s points tally last weekend, and every player’s contributions over the course of an excellent season for all 3 of our Saturday league teams!

🟢🟢🔴 LEAGUE RESULTS | WEEK 18

Here is one final set of results and match summaries from the 2026 Saturday league season

🏆 The 1st XI rounded off the season with an excellent runchase against Mayfield which means the season ended with a 41-point gap to 2nd placed Lindfield. A very deserved 1st placed finish for our 1st XI, who spent 14 of the 18 weeks of the season in 1st place, including all 9 weeks of the second-half of the season.

💪 The 2nd XI finished the season with an excellent win against Lingfield who themselves finished 2nd and won promotion. A 4th placed finish in Division 6 is the best for our 2nd XI since the merger of all teams into 1 structure back in 2017

📈 A disappointing final game of the season for our 3rd XI, recording a loss to Isfield, however some good experience gained by some youngsters. It is a now 7 years in a row achieving a mid-table position for our 3rd XI, who will be aiming for some silverware next year

🏆 DIVISION 3 EAST CHAMPIONS 2026

👑 Our 1st XI are champions of the Sussex Cricket League Division 3 East for the 2026 season!

🔝 It’s a first promotion since 2019 and a first league title for our 1st XI in 18 years, when the club was last promoted to Division 2. It also marks our return to Division 2 after 13 seasons away.

📈 With around 150 clubs and 350+ teams competing across the Sussex Cricket League, promotion puts the club among the top 20 teams in Sussex and as one of the highest-ranked clubs in East Sussex

🖤💛 A fantastic achievement and fitting reward for the time, effort and commitment put in by so many people across the club

⚫️🟡 TEAM NEWS | WEEK 18

Here’s how we lineup for the final week of the 2026 league season.

The 1st XI travel to Mayfield looking to crown a title-winning season with another victory.

The 2nd XI host Lingfield looking for an eighth win of the season of the season and to potentially finish in 4th place.

The 3rd XI could also climb 1 place and finish the season in 5th place with a victory against Isfield.

Best of luck to all 33 players making up our 3 teams as we look to end the 2026 season on a positive note.

☔️ ☔️ ☔️ LEAGUE RESULTS | WEEK 17

All 3 games were washed out without a ball being bowled last weekend.

The one significant outcome from the washouts was that it meant the 1st XI can’t be caught at the top of Division 3 East and have therefore sealed promotion to Division 2 for the 2027 season 🏆

⚫️🟡 TEAM NEWS | WEEK 17

Here’s how our 3 Saturday league teams lineup for the penultimate week of the 2026 league season. A reminder that the 2nd & 3rd XI matches start at 1230 for these final 2 weeks of the season.

The 1st XI take on St Peters where a victory would secure a first league title in 18 years, and a return to Division 2 for the first time since 2013.

The 2nd XI travel to Little Common looking for a win that would see retention of 5th place position in Division 6 East and a chance to close in on 4th place in the final week of the season.

The 3rd XI host Barcombe, knowing that 1 more win would be enough to guarantee a mid table finish and another season in Division 11 East (North).
