A very big well done to Huddersfield Laund Hill AFC who hosted their annual football tournament at the weekend, it was really organised and they had lots of hard working volunteers (A very big Thank You from us!)

We had lots of different age groups enter and had 4 teams who managed to bring a Trophy home! Well Done to our U10A Boys, U11B Girls and both U14 Girls Teams!! 🏆

Every Golcar United Juniors team who entered played incredibly well and had FUN which is what it’s all about! 💚🖤

What an absolutely fantastic day for our amazing All Stars team on their trip to Cannon Hall Farm!

Football may have been the reason they all started, but being part of the All Stars is about so much more than the game itself!

It’s about building confidence, developing self-esteem, making new friends, and creating a wonderful community for all the children (and the parents!!)

We are incredibly grateful to our coaches Steve, Nobby, Sten, and Ben M, who generously volunteer their time to encourage, support, and include every single player!!

As Coach Steve said:
"What a fantastic group of young individuals who, despite any challenges they may face, always give their absolute all. They have improved so much, not only in footballing terms but as individuals too. They always have smiles on their faces, and they are a pleasure to try and help."

We are incredibly proud of every single one of them - (Smiles on faces says it all!!)

I bet you’re wondering who this guy is…..

This guy is just another one of our fabulous volunteers who gives up hours of his time on a weekly basis to referee some of our junior games!

Referees are hard to find as nobody wants to do this job anymore! They receive abuse and constantly have to listen to people shouting ‘Ref!’ Like they can’t see what is going on!
Without the refs there is no game and here at Golcar United Juniors appreciate EVERYBODY who has reffed one of our junior games this season!

🏆 Here are our fabulous U14 girls West Riding Division 2 CHAMPIONS!!!! 🏆

Coach Ben started a girls team 4 years ago as his daughter decided she wanted to start playing football, fast forward to now and they have now been promoted to the top division in the county!

The girls have worked really hard to improve and this weekend was their reward!

To be able to compete in the top divisions with a group of mates without "activley" recruiting players is what grass roots football is about.

To improve the players you have and form a team who battle and play for each other.

A massive thank you to Coach Ben Senior, Coach Sheldon Knowles and Coach Ross who have all created a great environment for the Golcar girls to thrive!

We Looking forward to watching the girls continue to grow and develop, playing with the best in the region next season!!

A massive CONGRATULATIONS to our incredible U15 girls on winning the league! 🏆

Not only that – they’ve also brought home the cup! What an unforgettable season!

Huge credit to our fantastic coaches, Newy & Scott, for their dedication and hard work!!

As a club, we’re so proud to see so many girls involved in football. The growth, commitment, and improvement across all our girls’ teams has been truly outstanding. The future is bright for Golcar United Ladies FC

To every team that lost a final - remember this: reaching a final already makes you winners!

Not everyone gets the chance to walk onto the pitch, battle for a trophy, and represent their grassroots club with pride! We are so proud of our U12s and U14s girls this weekend!

Coaches will always question if they could have done something differently, and players will replay moments in their minds, especially Goalkeepers who feel the pressure throughout the game and those penalty shoot outs! Getting to a final is an achievement in itself! Memories to last a lifetime, with friends!

Even if we or others didn’t come away as “champions” this time, we fought hard to get there and earned the right to compete on that pitch!

Heads held high to every team that gave everything this weekend!

A huge congratulations to Coach Jonathan Newiss and Coach Scott and our fabulous set of Under 15 Girls, today they beat Durker Devils 3-1 in the Trophy Final!

All the girls put in a real battling performance to win the game, 3 superb strikes from Bella H who earned herself POTM.🏆
