Cannot thank Keighley Albion enough for a fantastic morning of rugby! 🏉
❤️🖤 RUGBY LEAGUE WAS THE WINNER 🖤❤️
Sometimes, there are things that are bigger than the result.
Our U14 Reds were due to face Goole Vikings Juniors last weekend, but with Goole suddenly finding themselves five players short at very short notice, there was a real possibility that the fixture wouldn’t be able to go ahead no more than 2 hours before kick off.
Rather than see the lads miss out, both clubs worked together to find a solution.
Our players were more than happy to step across and help make up the numbers, pulling on a Goole shirt and giving everyone the opportunity to get out on the pitch and play the game they love.
And that’s exactly what happened. 🤝🏉
Yes, we all want to win. We train to win, compete to win and nobody enjoys losing!
But sometimes the result matters less than making sure the game happens in the first place.
The smiles on the faces of the lads at the final whistle, the experience they got from playing together and the friendships and memories created were worth far more than the scoreline.
A huge thank you to Goole Vikings Juniors for the kind words and, more importantly, for working with us to make the fixture happen.
Credit also to our players, Coach Steve Woodhead (Woody), and parents for embracing the situation and showing exactly what junior Rugby League should be about.
