⚽💛 What a fantastic day in memory of Gav Broadhead 💛⚽

Today saw friends, families, players and local football clubs come together at Victoria Pleasure Grounds for the Gav Broadhead Memorial Tournament.

It was a brilliant day of football, laughter, teamwork and community, with everyone coming together to celebrate Gav’s life and remember someone who clearly meant so much to so many. 💛

A huge thank you to everyone who played, supported, volunteered, organised and came along to make the day so special.

Grassroots football at its very best. ⚽🙌

And, of course, a massive thank you to all the teams who took part and helped make Gav’s memorial tournament a day to remember.

Today wasn't just about football. It was about remembering Gav, celebrating his life and bringing people together in his memory. ❤️

⚽️🌉 Goole Town Tigers U10 Blacks – Humber Bridge Challenge! 🌉⚽️

Today, the Goole Town Tigers U10 Blacks took on a fantastic challenge to raise much-needed funds for their football team! 💙🖤

The team, along with their amazing parents and siblings, all came together to walk the 2.76 miles across the Humber Bridge and back. It was a brilliant effort from everyone involved and a fantastic display of determination, teamwork and team spirit! 👏👏

The money raised will help the team purchase new kit, equipment and anything else they may need throughout the season, helping the boys continue to enjoy their football and develop as a team. ⚽️🏆

A huge THANK YOU to every player, parent and sibling who took part, and to everyone who has supported the fundraiser so far. Your generosity really does make a difference. ❤️

Goole Town Tigers U10 Blacks vs Crofton Juniors U10 Phoenix

On Saturday, Goole Town Tigers U10 Blacks welcomed Crofton Juniors U10 Phoenix to West Park for their first match of the new season.

After a few weeks of blistering sunshine, the recent rain had softened the pitch nicely, creating great conditions for some proper grassroots football. Both teams were eager to get their new season underway, and there was a real sense of excitement around West Park.

The Tigers have improved massively since last season, and that progress was clear to see. There was plenty of battling in midfield, strong challenges and some excellent team play, with both sides creating plenty of goal attempts.

At the back, Goole Town Tigers were excellent. The defending was strong and organised, with the players showing great determination to make tackles, close down the opposition and work hard for each other.

It was also fantastic to see one of our own Goole Town Tigers players come along to watch the game and support his teammates. He wanted to see what the matches were like and cheer the team on from the sidelines — a brilliant example of the team spirit that makes this group so special. 🐯❤️

There was fantastic effort from every player, with the Tigers showing great teamwork, resilience and a never-give-up attitude from start to finish.

A brilliant first game of the new season and a fantastic display of how much this team has developed. Well done, Tigers! 🐯⚽👏

Allerton Bywater Amber U12 1 v Goole Town Tigers Yellows U12 3

Goole travelled to their West Yorkshire counterparts for their inaugural game of the season, and with it being U12 now ‘Competrive’!

It was the first time the team had met in three years due to winter cancellations and the home teams ground was like a carpet that enabled the boys to embrace their passing game in a new attacking formation, they took the lead with a Charlie Collins free kick, the teams dead ball specialist always looked like there was only one winner as he placed the ball ready for the kick and fooled all that watched by curling it low into the bottom left corner.

Goole looked the better side in the first half, hitting the woodwork, missing a penalty and were Arsenal esque in their set pieces to enter the break 0-1 to the good.

The second half continued in much the same form with a fantastic team goal Sonny Law providing a dinked cross for Zakk Vale to Spring like a salmon and power a header past the keeper to double the away teams lead.m - an opening day dream goal!

The home team weren’t willing to let Goole have it all their own way and had a 10 minute purple patch, hitting the cross bar twice with thunderbolt shots before finding the net with a great move that saw the left full back flying down the wing before crossing to the centre forward who finished impressively first time past the advancing keeper and start what looked like a spirited fight back.

Goole wrapped up all three points in the last 10minutes when a Jimmy Pheasant looping shot was parried by the keeper only as far as Sonny Law who pounced like a tiger onto the loose ball to take his goal talley to an impressive 6goals in 7 days.

Man of the match was centre back Riley Dean Robinson who was a commanding and re-assuring figure, always vocal but marshalled his back three with maturity and distributed fantastically from his quarter back position.

A home match is on the cards at Delta next week against Snaith and a chance to keep the winning streak going.

Goole Town Tigers under 14 yellows v Frickley under 14

It was the yellows first league match following a great pre season full of tournament triumphs.
Following back to back promotions with the same core team todays division 1 clash was always going to be a test.
The coaches set the expectations in the pre match talk.
The team delivered a monumental performance.
From the first minute we took the game to Frickley. Within 15 mins it would have been 3-0 if not for the Frickley keeper pulling off world class stop after stop.
Noah W was a constant threat and Frickley struggled to contain him, many teams know that feeling.
Against the run of play Frickley took the lead just before half time 0-1.
Half time talk, little reshuffle Tigers pressured from the start.
Stunning solo goal from Noah put it level with 10 remaining.
1-1
Ozzy F wins the ball in his own penalty area. He brings it just out side of the box and launches a ball the full length of the pitch it bounces just on the Frickley penalty area. Under pressure Noah W allows one bounce then gently lifts the ball over the keeper 2-1
Absolute scenes.
60 seconds remaining.
Frickley show why they came second in the top decision last season. They re-group and grab a last kick winner.
Coming away disappointed with a draw showed how we controlled the game.
This group of lads were playing their trade in division 3 two seasons ago, they are now worrying the elite teams.
Parents voted Noah W as their MOM after his goals kept us in the game.
Coaches choice was simple Oliver B. His first game in his new cb position. He dominated the play and never missed a thing.
Before the match we announced our captains for the season.

Goole Town Tigers U15 Whites 8 - 4 Elvington Harriers

The I15 white started off their new season with a home tie against Elvington today at West Park. After going down very early on in the game it didn't take them very long to equalise. The first half was pretty much back and forth with the Tigers defence getting caught out with the same ball every time... Half time .... 3-3.
Off they came and although the better side footballing wise, some home truths and stern words from the coaches seemed to have taken effect in the second half.. totally different team. The goals just kept flying in. Brilliant passion and desire to see of a team that were clearly there for the taking. The coaches were impressed also with stand in goalkeeper Elliot Hodge... With no keeper available he bravely stepped up and took on the challenge 👏. Man of the Match went to new signing Noah Harrison bagging himself 4 goals and an assist on his league debut.

As a club we would like to give a huge appreciation post to C4LP Embroidery & Printing on Pasture Road, Goole 👏

As a club our coaches take part in charity/fundraising matches, and we always 'make do' with a red and white kit that was handed to us years ago, and now over the years with various tops missing we no longer have a full kit!

We did mention getting a branded Tigers kit after the charity match last year in memory of Gav Broadhead, but time passed and it was soon forgotten. So after agreeing to take part in this years memorial match, the old red and white kit was back out of retirement, but on Wednesday we decided (very last minute) that we needed a proper Tigers kit, so we started ringing around kit suppliers to see if we could get next day delivery! Kit was sorted and delivery due Friday, but it was arriving plain and we needed it printing asap!

Once the kit was sorted it was then on to C4LP Embroidery to see if they could help, it was going to be tight but they would see what they could do, we needed the Tigers logo and squad numbers! Today we collected our kit all printed and ready to wear and we cannot thank the team at C4LP for their assistance, the lads playing tomorrow will look great, so this one's for you Gav, sadly no longer with us, but truly never forgotten 🤍

Tough Start For Tigers

U10 Oranges made the short trip to Doncaster to play Barnby Dun Colts.

The boys never really got out of summer holiday mode and Barnby Dun were simply too hot to handle!

Several amazing stops from the Tigers GK kept things interesting to the final quarter. Hard work today but these boys have many more gears to find.
