AFKC Round 5 - Fulbeck

Late to the party! It was a weekend of mixed fortunes for the team at Fulbeck, with some mega results but also a lot of missed opportunities.

No.51 Tom – P3 Overall & P1 Military. His best weekend of the season, judging the conditions perfectly in both races, mega pace all weekend and taking a well deserved P1 overall in race 2.

No.150 Will & Bailey – A tough weekend for the pair, results not going their way and losing out in changing conditions. Steering issues in both races kept them on their toes but they’ll come back stronger next round.

No.50 Dan – Another frustrating weekend for Dan, just hasn’t had any luck at all but he’ll keep pushing till the seasons out.

No.22 Ben – An unfortunate weekend for Ben, his kart was involved in an incident in race 1 and that was his weekend over.

No.3 Scott - First weekend back since Clay, great pace in his qualifying sessions but race 3 ended with blown engines, meaning he missed out on his best result of the season.

No.78 Wrenchy - His first weekend of the year, a great learning experience but it was all over after half a race when he was involved in an incident and sustaining a shoulder injury, but he’s on the mend and ready to go for the next round.

RACE WEEK - Round 5 AFKC - Armed Forces Karting Championship

This weekend we are at Fulbeck Kart Circuit for the fifth round of AFKC, off the back of a great weekend last time out the lads will be pushing for more results this month.

We’ll share the progress throughout the weekend, starting with practice tomorrow.

Fulbeck Sprint Series Round 6 E Plate

This is why we race, the sheer joy that we all felt the second Sam Wright Karting crossed the line last Sunday was huge. This was a moment we’ve been waiting for all year.

It was another tough weekend really but at no point did the team give up, there was missed practice sessions, mistakes on track, as well as getting caught up in other people’s incidents in the heats.

Going into the final the goal was clear. Finish the race and win that novice trophy that’s been so close all year.

What Sam produced in that 12 minutes was the best that he has ever driven! He got his best start, making up 3 places at turn 1, as the first laps played out some faster karts came through but Sam settled down and stayed with them and by the end of the race set his personal best lap time ever.

We’re beyond proud of you mate! The resilience to keep going even when it seemed like it was going to be another one of those weekends shows how far you have come. Some top driving in the final, putting into practice all the track walks and laps driven.

Preparation has already started for next month, in the mean time coming up we’ve got Will racing in the Mini Challenge at Donington this weekend, followed by the next round of AFKC the following weekend.

AFKC Round 4 - Crail

What a weekend! The team came away with 9 trophy finishes, incredible pace across the board, and plenty to celebrate.

No.51 Tom – P4 Overall & P2 Military in all three races, earning P3 Military overall thanks to another fast and consistent weekend.

No.150 Will & Bailey – Their strongest weekend of the season with P3 Overall, P2 Military, plus an impressive Race 3 overall victory.

No.50 Dan – Strong pace throughout but broken exhausts in both races ended any hopes of a top result. A frustrating weekend, but he’ll come back fighting at Fulbeck.

No.22 Ben – Consistent pace all weekend and enjoyed three races after stepping in to help RAF Waddington Vulcans in Race 2.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported us throughout the weekend. Next up, Tom and Will take on the British 24 Hour in a couple of weeks. More photos from Crail coming soon! 📸
