Great Blakenham Cycle Speedway

Great Blakenham Cycle Speedway Great Blakenham Cycle Speedway Club race in the South East League with teams representing the club. Division 1 & Division 2.

Training every Tuesday evening from 6pm for young riders & 7.30pm for senior riders. We hold training sessions on Tuesday evening from 1st March at 6pm for Juniors and new members, the Senior riders train from 7.30pm. New members are always welcome to come and try, we can provide bikes but ask that you bring along cycle helmet if you have one & gloves.

🟢⚫️ Suffolk GP Final Round! 🟢⚫️

A great set of results for both Jasper and Niall earlier in the week as they rode in the final round of the Suffolk GP at Kesgrave 🏁🔥

Both riders finished on the podium with Niall finishing 3rd in the U11s 🥉 and Jasper finishing 1st in the U13s 🥇

A huge congratulations to both of them on their performance and podium finishes! 💚

A great bank holiday weekend of racing for our riders! 🔥🏁

In the Over 50s Craig Marchant was crowned Champion! 🥇🔥

The Junior event saw Luca Woodhouse finish 2nd! 🥈

Then today in the open Josh Brooke and Lewis Brinkhoff need a run off to decide 2nd and 3rd which Lewis went on to win 🥈🥉

Luca and Noah Woodhouse both featured in the final as well, meaning a quarter of the riders in the open final were from Blakenham! 🔥

Another great weekend of success and commitment our riders have shown and a huge congratulations to them all for their achievements over the weekend! 💚💪🏼

It was the final round of the Suffolk GP at Kesgrave with some great results for our riders! 🔥

Alfie won the U7s 🥇 while Evie finished 3rd 🥉

And in the U9s Charlie was the winner of that competition! 🥇

🟢⚫️ Midseason Round Up Part 1! 🟢⚫️

There has been a lot going on over the last couple of months for the club and our riders. Here are just some of the things that have been going on! 🔥

The Suffolk GP rounds have been taking place with the 3rd round taking place at Somersham for the U7s and U9s. It was great to see so many of our younger take part and enjoy some competitive racing!

Some more local racing included the BYJL and SEGP rounds with Kesgrave staging round 3!

This weekend was also the Suffolk Individuals seeing Charlie win the U10s and his brother Alfie getting 2nd in the U8s 🥇🥈

Well done to everyone getting involved racing and helping run these local events! 💚

Apology Regarding Fireworks at the National Girls’ and Women’s Event

We would like to offer our deepest apologies regarding the letting off of fireworks at the recent National Girls’ and Women’s event held at Great Blakenham Cycle Speedway Club.

Although the decision to let off the fireworks was not made by the club committee, we recognise that, as the host club, we must take full responsibility for what occurred.

We sincerely apologise, unreservedly, to the local residents and users of Great Blakenham Recreation Ground for any distress, anxiety, disruption or stress that this may have caused.
We fully appreciate that fireworks can be unsettling and disruptive, particularly when people living nearby have not been given prior notice. This was not our intention, and we are genuinely sorry for any upset caused.

We will learn from this incident and ensure that greater consideration is given to the local community and surrounding residents when planning future events.

Once again, please accept our sincere and deepest apologies.
