Welcome back Scotland 💪 🏴
-
For us it’s like Easter, Christmas, new year and your birthday all in the one day! 🙌 🥳
-
Some tips for getting back to it:
-
Follow the rules and regulations, respect the staff and other members and understand they’re trying their hardest to keep things working as safely as possible ✅
-
Warm up thoroughly, like a good 15 minutes of mobility and movement patterns with minimal weight ♨️
-
Concentrate on form, stability, control and a steady rep tempo with controlled breathing, choose big compound movements and whole body workouts before attempting body part splits ✅
-
Do not try for new 1rms or previous top sets as you’ll likely put yourself at risk of injury ❌🤕
-
Prioritise sound nutrition, adequate rest (this includes sleep!) and hydration 🥘 💤 💧
-
Most of us will have only had limited equipment or some neglected training so be patient with yourself, we’re all in the same situation! We’ll be aback at our best in due course ⏳

Circa March 19 🗓
-
Probably my favourite shape of the journey so far. I felt this was one of my weaker shots until I watched posing routines religiously, I learned how to execute it better 💪💥
-
In Scotland we’re still waiting for the gyms to reopen so I have the perfect back to gym package for those interested 💪
-
I’ll be running it at a discount for the rest of august so let me know before slots fill up ☝️

Perspective 👁
-
I’ve been in this seriously for 7 years now. I decided from the start it was all or nothing.
-
Things all of a sudden slowed down, 7 years had passed and I’ve been all reflective, looking at all the pros and cons.
-
✅: I’m physically where I’d like to be without much more work. One more off season if I want to compete open class and a pre contest diet away from competing in classic again. I’m proud of my physique 🙏
-
✅: Lessons learned from going there, really fu***ng going there. A true blood and guts heavy set to failure and forced eccentrics. Tapping into that inner aggression, that dark place in your head. Maximal loads, fibre tearing, skin ripping, RPE:11. It all teaches you that the pain you feel today is the strength you feel tomorrow 💪
-
✅: Discipline. Training, eating round the clock, minimising social occasions to the necessary.
-
✅: Always be the hardest worker in the room. One of the most undervalued aspects of the gym is using the environment to push you beyond your limits
-
✅: Living by a different set of values. I was mission oriented in my goals. I didn’t care for the material world or A-typical milestones. My aspirations were everything even though some might never happen and they’re usually a transient experience, I’d already invested too much into it. It was my sole purpose. I felt this set me apart☝️
-
❌: Never realised my true potential academically
-
❌: Became too consumed by the lifestyle
-
❌: Personal relationships suffered
-
❌: Never appreciated how far I’d come. Always striving for the next level
-
❌: Forgetting who I was before and at times struggling with my identity
-
❌: Regular physical pain and injuries. Joints, tendons, torn muscles
-
❌: Missing out on life
-
-
All in all, of course I would do some things differently. This lockdown has taught me humility, self worth and to be grateful for all that I have. It's time to address the cons ☝️
-
I made this post because someone asked how long it takes to look like that. How long is only half the story.

It all begins with a choice ⚖️
-
Choose to change your attitude, choose to eat better, choose to exercise regularly, choose to recover and choose to stay that way! 💥💥

Very impressed with the lean body mass has been able to put on despite limited training options 🦍
-
Through tailored programming for the equipment available and staying on track with flexible and personalised nutrition we have successfully overcome the odds 👏
