Trawlers put on a convincing display back at the puddle yesterday as we welcomed Solihull Storm. They traveled with a short bench of 9 skaters and kept the score to a minimum in the first period. Massive shoutout to our tendy Adam for playing in net for Solihull, who absolutely stood on his head all game.

Huge thanks to Solihull for traveling, we know some teams would’ve canceled last minute, but they made sure the game went ahead.

Stick taps for Jake Wadge for getting the monkey off his back with goal #1 and man of the match performance for our stay at home D man. Maybe need to work on the celly a bit though!.. Sleethy as always solid in net, until the last second where the crossbar did the work for him to ensure the shut out 🤣 on to the next one

🚨 TRAWLERS WIN AND SOCIAL MEDIA GUY RETURNS 🚨

Trawlers ‘B’ put on an impressive performance at Grimsby Ice Rink vs Kingston Fat Dads last weekend, and our logo isn’t even on our ice pad!

Always a great game vs the dads, we can’t thank them enough for traveling to the puddle.

In other news, Trawlers dev took 8 skaters away to Blackburn and managed to win 6-4, a huge effort from everyone that traveled. Goes to show a short bench is sometimes a good thing!

Trawlers ‘A’ made the final at Kingston Cobras tournament but completed tradition of being the bridesmaid and never the bride. Losing 3-0 to a well drilled Paisley Blackhawks, who had a game plan and played it perfectly. Congratulations to them!

We have more hockey at the puddle this weekend. Details to be announced soon, maybe..

CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT

It has come to our attention that our social media
channels have been severely lacking over the
last few weeks.

Due to unforeseen circumstances our social
media guy hasn’t updated anything, or anyone,
anywhere. He’s used excuses like being a ‘father’
a ‘husband’, having a ‘business’ and ‘life’ outside of hockey.

This isn’t good enough.

We can only apologise for the lack
of information on Grimsby’s premier rec team.

Trawlers ‘B’ and ‘Dev’ secured huge wins recently
4-3 vs Cobras and 6-5 vs Ice Wolves.

Trawlers ‘B’ are at home tomorrow vs Fat Dads 3pm
‘Dev’ are away at Blackburn on Sunday 4:45pm
Our ‘A’ squad travels to the Cobras tournament.

We know it’s only rec hockey.

TRAWLERS WIN

The Grimsby Trawlers continued their strong start in the M62 Cup with a dramatic 4-3 comeback win over the Kingston Cobras.

After two periods, the Trawlers were trailing 3-1 heading into the final period. Three unanswered goals completed the comeback, sealing a 4-3 victory and maintaining the Trawlers’ perfect record in the competition. With two games played and two wins on the board, confidence is growing as the team continues to make a strong statement in the M62 Cup.

It’s been a great start all round for all 3 Trawlers teams this season.

This weekend Trawlers ‘B’ are hogging the ice time again as they travel to Beighton Bombers IHC
