đ¨ WE ARE RECRUITING đ¨
As we start to make plans for the 2026-2027 season, weâre looking to add to all 3 of our rosters.
Whether youâre wanting to compete at recâs âhighestâ (in quotations) level in multiple cups and join our âAâ team in going for glory and probably losing in the final.
If youâre coming back from a few years off and see yourself as a goalscorer/shut down defenceman for our âBâ squad.
Or if youâre new to the sport and want to join our development team, weâve got a spot for you!
Training times are decent for rec and weâve got a great bunch, minus a few, but every team has a Dale.
Goalies, defenceman, forwards, snipers, waterboys and bench warmers, get in touch!

A selection of photos from last nights game courtesy of 13 year old Lily.
She's a dab hand behind the camera. If only her dad could score breakaways..

TRAWLERS âAâ WIN THE âLEAGUEâ
A great game in Lamp Lighters Ice Hockey Conference- LLIHC last night as a short benched Trawlers mounted a great come back vs Sheffield Blazers Ice Hockey Club to take 1 point and secure top spot in Group B
The first period ended 0-0 with both teams trading chances.
Blazers were first to strike in the second and went 2-0 up, but Trawlers made it a 1 goal game with 3 minutes left as the top line all combined for Curtiss to finish on the backhand.
A wild start to the 3rd period saw Blazers score in the first 15 seconds off a Trawlers (Wadgeâs) stick, but Trawlers responded 15 seconds later with Fenwick beating the goalie low after a big turnover in the neutral zone started by Wadge.
With 6 minutes left in the game, Hoban let a rocket go from the point and beat the goalie clean for the draw.
A great game, with multiple penalties and both goalies standing on their heads. Well played Blazers and good luck the rest of the way
Massive shoutout to some of our guys who played the game despite already icing in 3-4 games of the draft earlier that day! Thanks to our supporters for traveling, and weâll see you at the next one.

TRAWLERS TOURNAMENT WIN
Our 'B' team headed to Kingston for the Reapers Tournament 1-2 August and did a thing.
Most Trawlers supporters know we have a habit of getting to finals and losing them, but this time we went one better.
Huge thanks to our #1 fan Harry for sticking with us throughout the weekend.

Trawlers Development team played their final game of the season in Bottom of the Barrel cup and even though short benched, came away with the win!
They finished 3rd in the cup and a huge congratulations to 89 Elliot Airey for winning top goalscorer in the competition.
A great first season for our dev squad.

Trawlers 'B' faced a strong Kingston Cobras team on 26 June in M62 Cup and suffered a heavy defeat - it's not very often we've had to write that this season.
All 3 teams have been competitive in each cup this year, it's been great to see the improvement throughout the club.

Trawlers 'A' remained perfect in Lamp Lighters Cup with a win away in Coventry vs the Spitfires.
A short bench and 'B' lads stepping up, as they have done all season secured the points.
A great game from start to finish, with the scoreline always remaining close and a physical contest.

We're late (again) sharing some of the results over the last month.
Still looking to replace our social media guy if anyones interested đ
Trawlers 'B' stayed strong in SIHC as they beat Wyre 12-6

A handful of Trawlers are at The Draft Tournament in Sheffield this weekend. Huge thanks to Jimi for organising this incredible event.
It seems like most of the Grimsby lads are on team Ozzy Osbourne, with others scattered around.
A few of the lads look worse for wear this morning. More importantly, weâve seen one of our top scorers âeating ice cream with the enemyâ and hearing rumours of our GM asking to sign for Don Valley Vikings in a drunken state (they wouldnât want him)
Weâd like to put on record our rivalry with Don Valley still stands and for one night only, as Hartley has said, weâre allowed out in public together.
As our captain Matty would say âwe are not friendsâ (or are we?)
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
