UK Bowlers β€” What Does the Sport Actually Need Right Now?

We want to hear directly from the people in the UK who are living the sport, not just watching it from a distance.

From the outside, it feels like bowls in Britain is at an interesting point. There is still deep loyalty, strong club culture, and a lot of people who genuinely care. But it also feels like clubs are being asked bigger questions than before. How do you attract newer players? How do you make the sport feel more visible? How do you keep tradition without making the game feel closed off to younger people, families, or people who have never tried it before?

There also seems to be a stronger focus now on inclusion, accessibility, safeguarding, and making clubs feel more welcoming from day one. That all sounds positive. But the real question is whether it is translating on the ground. So if you are in England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, or anywhere else in the UK β€” we would genuinely like to know: what is the mood around bowls where you are? Is it growing? Holding steady? Struggling? Evolving? And what do clubs and players seem to want most right now?

Question for the community:
If you are in the UK, what is bowls really looking for right now β€” more players, younger players, better visibility, stronger accessibility, or something else?
