CROFTS TROPHY EVENT 🏆

It was never going to be an easy afternoon but I thought today was far more positive than negative!
Some good results, and arguably more left out there, but plenty to be proud of! Every single one of the boys can hold their heads high today!💪

Plenty to learn, plenty of positives, and more progress from the boys. Proud of them all! ⚽️🖤

⭐ PARENT'S PLAYER – SHAY ⭐

A typically brave performance from Shay. His passion, commitment and desire, both on and off the ball, are exactly what we look for in our players. He gives everything for the team, and that attitude deserves recognition! 💪

⭐ MANAGER’S PLAYER – LOUIE M ⭐

Louie led the line in a really mature fashion today. His work rate can never be questioned, and he chipped in with some fantastic goals. A thoroughly deserved award! 👏

MATCH RECAP! ⚽️📃

A very good performance from all the boys today and a thoroughly deserved first win! 👏

We dominated the game from the first whistle and, at times, perhaps became a little complacent. There were a few occasions where we all bombed forward and didn’t quite work as hard getting back into position but that’s me being overly critical because, overall, it was a very good display from everyone.

The boys are continuing to build in confidence week after week, and it’s fantastic to watch us go out there and boss these older teams.

First win in the bag… and hopefully plenty more to come!

We should all be incredibly proud of how well these boys are doing! ⚽️🖤

PARENTS’ PLAYER — RAINN ⭐️🏆

An absolute colossus at the back today! 💪

Strong as an ox and giving the boys around him the confidence to get forward. He also didn’t look out of place when pushed up onto the right wing!

A superb performance from Rainn today and a thoroughly deserved Parents’ Player. 👏

MANAGER’S PLAYER — FRANKIE P ⭐️🏆

Frankie delivered exactly what we spoke about before the game. He constantly wanted the ball, and even when a pass didn’t quite come off, he wanted it again straight away. He was always an option for his teammates, was very vocal throughout and never stopped working to get back and cover when we were down to one defender.

That attitude and willingness to keep going is exactly what we wanted to see from him today. 👏

MANAGER’S THOUGHTS | vs LACEBY U11s ⚽️

What an effort from the boys today! 👏

You genuinely couldn’t fault them. As we keep saying, the challenge in this league is making sure we can compete against older, high-ability players — and it’s becoming very clear that these boys are more than capable of doing exactly that. 💪

Yes, we love seeing our boys knock the ball around. We have a strong identity in how we want to play football and how well this team can move the ball. But sometimes, especially in this league, you have to show that you’re willing to fight, battle and dig deep too.

Across all three games so far, we’ve more than adapted to the league. We certainly didn’t deserve to lose the first two, so it was fantastic to finally come away with a a decent result today.

A massive well done to every single one of the boys today the pressing, the covering, the tracking and the endless work rate to create space and open up gaps!

MANAGERS & PARENTS PLAYER OF THE MATCH — THEO ⭐️⭐️

I think everyone is in agreement that Theo’s saves earned us that point. Another top-class performance between the sticks from Theo, capped off by an absolutely ridiculous save right at the end! 🧤🔥👏

FRIENDLY MATCH RECAP ⚽️

Last night was a great test for the boys as we faced Discoveries Vipers.

The result was ultimately irrelevant to an extent. The aim was to see how the boys would compete against a top, top side, and there were plenty of positives to take away.

We started slowly, which was perhaps expected but the boys showed fantastic character to grow into the game, find their confidence and, most importantly, start believing they could compete.

Once the boys stood up, showed some bravery and were willing to fight for every ball, we showed our true spirit and made it a much more competitive game.

We also have to put the performance into context. The opposition have some outstanding individuals and are a seriously strong team.

There’s still plenty to work on, but nights like this are exactly how the boys learn, develop and grow! 👏

⭐️ MANAGER'S PLAYER OF THE MATCH - Theo

Theo stepped in between the sticks last night and certainly didn't look out of place! He made some crucial saves, showed great footwork and was really commanding throughout the game.
A fantastic performance in an unfamiliar position! 🧤👏

⭐️ OPPOSITION'S PLAYER OF THE MATCH - Frankie P

A brilliant recognition from the opposition, who voted Frankie as their Player of the Match.
His never-say-die attitude, energy and willingness to get on the ball against a top side were evident throughout. To cap it all off, Frankie got himself on the scoresheet too! ⚽🔥

Plenty of positives!
Plenty to learn!
Plenty to be proud of!

Well done boys! 🖤

Managers Recap! ⚽️⭐️

Another really positive performance from the boys today! 👏

We dominated the first quarter and, apart from the second quarter, we controlled large parts of the game. We came up against some excellent goalkeeping and some big, physical defenders, but the boys kept going and never shied away from the challenge. 💪

Some of the football we played today was superb! ⚽ The way we moved the ball against an older, bigger team was particularly impressive, and there were plenty of positives to take away.

At this level, mistakes get punished — and that’s all part of the learning curve when stepping up a year. But what really stood out today was the boys' desire to fight, compete and keep playing our football.

PLAYERS OF THE MATCH 🏆

⭐ Frankie G - Manager's Player
⭐ Oakley - Parent's Player

They both worked tirelessly from start to finish, never stopped running, created plenty and didn’t shy away from the battle! 💪⚽

A fantastic all-round performance from all the lads today.

FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON ⚽️

Our first game of the season playing a year up against Louth Reds U11's.

After a slow start, the boys showed fantastic character to respond, compete and continue playing their football for the rest of the game!

A fantastic test for the lads, who battled right until the final whistle and showed plenty of character along the way. Lots to take from the game and plenty to build on as we get started! 🔥

Special mention to Frankie G & Louie M, who were awarded Managers & Parents’ Players of the Match after putting in a huge shift and continually trying to make things happen. 👏⭐️

A huge thank you to our fantastic manager for organising the name card fundraiser! 👏⚽

And a massive thank you to everyone who had a go on the name card and shared with friends and familiy, your generosity really does make a difference!

🏆 2 in 2 for the Boro boys! 🏆

We struggled to find the back of the net during the group stages, but when it mattered most, the lads stepped up and got the job done and I'm really pleased with some of the football we played today. This win takes Boro to an incredible 5 trophies this summer! What a team! 👏⚽️

So proud of every single one of the boys. What a way to finish our summer tournament season! 🤩

UTB! 🖤🖤
