Great day for Grimsby Borough Junior FC today with the U8 Warriors squad resigning

The Warriors took part in an U7’s tournament today at Clee Town.

A tough group for the lads today. Whilst they didn’t get the results they wanted we were really impressed with some of the passing play that we saw. It is something that we had been working on with the lads in training, so was great to see them putting what they had learnt into practice today. It was a lovely event and it was great to see the Warriors enjoying their footy with their teammates.

Our Parents Player of the Tournament went to Jack 🙌🏻👏🏻 Some great tackles and passing play from him today! Well done Jack! 🙌🏻

Coaches Player of the Tournament went to Oscar today 🙌🏻👏🏻 Oscar was asked to play in a couple of different positions today and did a great job in both. Well done Oscar! 🙌🏻

That’s the last official fixture of the season out of the way now. Us coaches are so proud of the lads and the amazing progress they have made in their first year as a team. We go again next season 👊🏻🙌🏻

A tough game for the Warriors today against a physical, well organised Allstars team. It was the Warriors first defeat since January, but our lads didn’t make it easy for the opposition, managing to keep the score close until the last quarter, when we ran out of a bit of steam and Allstars capitalised.

We were really proud of the lads, who competed and battled all game, with some super saves by the keeper, tight defending and some exciting forward play too - Warriors by name, Warriors by nature 👊🏻🙌🏻

The Parents Player of the Match went to Elvan for some fantastic goal keeping🙌🏻 and Coaches Player of the Match went to both Jack and George. Some superb defending from them🙌🏻

We re-group and go again next week, facing Allstars back to back in the last league game of the season. ⚽️🙌🏻👏🏻

The Warriors were away against Laceby today. With a couple of players missing some of the lads had to play out of position - they all did amazing!!

There was some great goal keeping, defending, attacking and goals with a couple of players getting hat tricks. It was great to again see the boys putting into practice what we have been teaching them in training.

Parents Player of the Match went to Jake for some great tenacious play and also for stepping up and taking a turn in goal🙌🏻👏🏻

Coaches Player of the Match went to Noah for scoring some great goals, but more importantly for being part of some great passages of play, assisting in some goals for his team mates 🙌🏻👏🏻

Our Warriors performed in a 3v3 tournament today and wow did they do well?!!

The lads were split into two teams of four for the tournament. It was tough going, playing 7 fast paced games, one after another, but both teams did extremely well, battling for every ball and scoring some great goals! We were really impressed with the effort the lads put in.

It’s great to see them grow week on week! For such a young group of kids, they really have come on so much. Players of the tournament weren’t picked today - I think we would have struggled to pick! All the lads should be really proud of themselves - they really earnt their ice-cream! Rest up this afternoon lads as tomorrow, we go again against Louth! ⚽️👏🏻

Tournament day today and couldn’t be prouder of the lads!! It was fair to say that we entered into the tournament with a certain amount of trepidation, having seen who was in our group, but we needn’t have worried. The boys did amazing!!

They held their own against some tough opposition, and made it to the semi finals, where they were finally beaten by a well organised Immingham team.

Every lad gave their all today and this showed in the results. A special mention to Elvan, on getting parents Player of the Tournament - Consistent as ever 🙌🏻 and to Oscar for coaches Player of the Tournament - some great play and goals! 🙌🏻

Another brilliant game for the Warriors with a great team ethic from the lads and some outstanding goals, tackles and goalkeeping. 100% effort from the lads again which showed in the result.

The game started off really closely. Goals were scored each end, but the Warriors came out on top. There were goals scored by several team members today, showcasing how the lads passing skills have come on. Some great defending and keeping the other end, making it difficult for Laceby to break through.

A special mention to Noah for Parents Player of the Match - Some great goals!!

Also, our Managers Player of the Match Ginge - Some fantastic closing down and tackling in defence!!

Next week we go again v Trin 🙌🏻

A great performance from the Warriors today in what was a fantastic game of football!! Another close encounter against a strong, organised Humberston Team. The Warriors did amazingly well! It was great to see them putting into place the skills they have been learning in training and putting together some excellent passages of play! Our keepers both pulled off some excellent saves and there were some great goals! Well done to Noah for Managers Player, who scored some great goals and made some fab assists, and Jack for Parents Player, who also scored and made some great assists and tackles.

The boys are growing week on week as it’s a pleasure to watch them grow as a team!

SILENT WEEKEND | 🤫 Will Silent Support help you? On 2nd-3rd March, we’ll be asking our clubs to keep their sidelines silent, apart from the applause as part of The FA's Silent Support Weekend.

⚽ This will give players the freedom to learn for themselves, coaches a safe space to teach without interruptions, and spectators the chance to step back and enjoy the game. ⚽

Guidance and information will be issued to clubs over the next few weeks.

What a brilliant couple of weeks!

Amazing performance from the Warriors today against a tough opposition!! From brilliant goal keeping and defending at one end to amazing tackling, passing and shooting at the other! Warriors closed down and battled for every ball. Our keeper has to be mentioned today - He pulled off some top notch saves and distributed the ball really well to the wingers who made some great passes down the line which enabled our forwards to score some fantastic goals. It was a great game for our spectators and coaches today! The lads did the job and did us proud!! ⚽️ 👏🏻🙌🏻

Excellent performance all round this morning for these warriors! Their final game of the Futsal league and what a game it was. Excellent defending , some cracking goals and all round teamwork.
