We have had a bit of radio silence recently as I somehow broke our Facebook but we’re back….
This weekend saw the girls travel to OneNk the home of Greenbank girls for there 5 a side tornament and for the girls first ever taste of tornament football.
We took two teams split into blues and yellows which saw us put into separate leagues with the possibility of an all Cleetown girls final 🤞.
The blues started really well and ended up coming 2nd in there group unbeaten seeing them progressing into the Semi final of the trophy event where they would face a very good Greenbank team, the game was very tight and ended in a draw but the girls held there nerve eventually coming out on top on penalties setting up a final clash against a very strong Louth team, the final was very evenly contested and the girls gave it there all but on the day Louth came out winners, the blues managed to go unbeaten all the way to the final and did us immensely proud 👏👊
The yellows had a slightly different day struggling in the group eventually finishing 3rd, they would progress into the semi final of the plate where they would face Lincoln griffins, the semi final was very fast paced but the girls dug in deep and managed to come away winners setting up a final against the second Lincoln griffins team,
The final again was fast paced and both teams gave it their all ending in a draw going straight into penalties to decide the outcome, if the girls was nervous they didn’t show it winning the penalty shootout to take the the plate 👏👏👊
From a managers point of view no matter what happened on the day we were immensely proud of how the conducted themselves.
Looking forward to the summer and some more tornaments 🥇🥈🔵⚫️🔵

Another great training session this week for the girls, a different approach this week saw us concentrating on some shooting and possession drills which the girls really seemed to take on board, during the shooting drill Olivia really worked hard and had some amazing low powerful drives which earned her a well deserved trainer of the week 👊⚽️
Well done Liv
With another week without a league game or cup game saw us travel out to Lincoln to play Greenbank girls in a friendly, the girls worked really hard but the result didn’t go our way on this occasion, our player of the match picked by the parents for her endless running and even a stint in goal which saw her make some great saves was Mia Stockton ⚽️👏
Keep up the hard week Mia

First game back today for a few weeks which saw us come up against a very solid Louth girls team, all through we came away with the loss the girls were amazing from the start and definitely held there own, we had superstar’s all over the pitch but POTM was Anya for her commanding display in defence today, Anya won Nearly all her tackles and never seemed fazed.
We push on now to the second part of the cup.

This week our cup game was cancelled so we arranged a friendly against a Clee town under 10 boys team who was looking for match practice in 9v9 ready for there progression next year, the game was very scrappy due to the amount of changes but the girls held there own and at times dominated the game, ultimately they was unlucky to come away with the loss, our players of the match this week was Alyssa, Anya and Flo, well done girls 🔵⚫️🔵
After the game we was given the opportunity to mascot for the Cleethorpes Town Men’s team, the girls loved walking out and had a great afternoon, big thank you for having us.
