Grimsby Ancient Mariners Walking Football Club Walking football for all over 55s. Two one hour sessions on Mondays and Thursdays, followed by banter and coffee in the cafe. From 10am to 1pm.

Come down and join us - we're a friendly club with lots of social events.

With people still on holiday and some not playing because of the jolly boys outing to Market Rasen (keep your eye on the bus lads ) numbers were down but still an healthy 54 across 4 pitches with 9 v 8 on the big pitch were im told it finished 6 6 with the blues being 6 3 up at one stage so a good comeback for the oranges 🍊 (hope I've got that the right way round ) with Roy G telling he scored 4 goals well done all for what sounded a cracking game thanks to Les for reffing and to Fred , Carl n Pete for reffing on small pitches and also to the lads for setting up great job all round 👍 👏 great comments from Fred today after he finished reffing saying what a pleasure to ref today with everybody playing in the right spirit of the game ! Numbers going well for Xmas dinner 🍽 😋 so if you dont want to miss out get your name down asap were I'll being doing my super xmas raffle of vouchers ,bottles ,chocolates and xmas hampers !

After Thursday s brilliant tournament it was back to a lovely sunny session down at Bradley with 64 in attendance across the 5 pitches 9 v 8 on big pitch which finished 7 2 to orange 🍊 high scoring game that reffed by Les H great job Les mainly 6s on small pitches and a couple of 5 s good turnout despite a lot of people still on holiday 👍 only Len on reffing duty today 👍 thanks Lenny 😊 and the lads for setting up ! Thursday is the trip to Market Rasen races after the session big thanks to Neil for organising heres for a good day to all that are going fingers crossed for good weather 😀 still plenty of time to get your name down for the xmas dinner n dance at Mcmenemeys on December 4th the cost is £25 per person subsided from £32 50 also if interested were helping promote the Ancient Mariners Sea Shanty groups concert at Bradley in November! Keep looking out for more social activities in the pipeline! See you all Thursday!

Today we held our Autumn Internal tournament at Bradley on a beautiful sunny morning with 61 playing across the 4 pitches with 3 teams of 7 and 5 teams of 8 with our set of new balls in place all was set for a great day of walking football ⚽️ the referring duties today were in the safe hands of Pat L ,Lenny ,Les and Pete a great job lads also before players started arriving our brilliant set up team were out getting the pitches ready for kick off with the refs briefed and the players also everything was in place and so it was a great morning of walking football ⚽️ the honours went to Rovers who came out on top beating Albion 1 0 in the final with Roy Gladwell scoring the deciding goal so well done to them there team consisting of John W in goal a last minute transfer from Wanderers Ian Lang ,Alan Rodgers, Duncan Auty ,Andy James ,Roy Gladwell and Jimmy Charlton 😀 2nd place went Athletic who beat United on penalties 3rd place went to Town who beat County 3 0 and 4th place went to Villa who beat Wanderers 3 1 so thanks to everybody who took part Linc Inspire for the buffet and last and know means least to our secretary Colin Akhurst for putting the teams the fixtures in place a great job as per usual .

65 down playing today brilliant turn out especially with a few people still on holiday 11 aside on big pitch score unknown refereed by Les 5 n 6 aside on 4 small pitches refereed by Stuart n Lenny thanks to them n Les 👍 also big thank you to the lads for setting up great job as always 👍 Thursday s looking good for our tournament with 70 plus names down Colin thought he'd got it sorted till names were added to day so it all looks good for a good day usual time briefing 9 45 am for iternary n recap on rules etc 😀 numbers going well for Xmas dinner still plenty of time to get your name down Marker Rasen places still available plus if your fancy a sing along there the Ancient Mariners sea shanty night !

On a lovely Thursday morning at Bradley 57 players took to the 4g hallowed pitches a good 11 aside on the big pitch score unknown again ? and 5 6s n 1 5 on 3 small pitches refereed today by Mark R ,Stuat B n Russ C taking over from Lenny today who volunteered to be ball boy today thanks to all and not forgetting Les H on big pitch big thanks to them and the lads who set up still time to register for the internal tournament on Oct 1st if youve not got your name down you can let us know on here or on Monday that will be the last chance 👍 also I believe still chance to sign up for Market Rasen on the 8th October if uou want to go let us know on here or on the Whats App social page 😀 and also the Xmas dinner n dance list is available 😀 see you all Monday!!!

For todays session we had 60 playing across the 5 pitches bit down for a Monday but nevertheless we had 9 aside on big pitch score unknown reffed by Les thanks Les small pitch we had 6 5s n 2 6s well reffed by Lenny ,Carl n Stuart 😀 thanks to the lads who set up and a big thanks to Dave Nielsen n Allan Young for helping me out today much appreciated 👏 as you can see by the pictures there's plenty going on to sign up for thanks to Neil for getting these sheets out there and organising the events 😀

For Mondays session there will be no provisional list or team sheet as Colins away on the big pitch it will be first 24 players on arrival Dave Nielsen will be forming the teams and I will be doing the small pitch teams as people arrive so come and see me or Dave ! Todays session we had 60 playing thanks to everybody for adapting to the last minute changes from 4 pitches to 3 unfortunately we didn't have enough to make 8 teams today as we only had one add on and 3 late withdrawals 😢 think it worked out OK and I hope you enjoyed the session 😀 thanks to Les ,Lenny n Stuart for reffing and the lads for setting up great job the big pitch today still had the max 12 aside with im told it going the way of oranges 🍊 3 1 well done to all on all pitches! Still places available for the Market Rasen day at the races on October 8th see Neil for details thanks to all who have paid so far ! The list is out for the internal tournament on the 1st October if you wish to take part plus the sheet is out for the Xmas dinner n dance at Mcmenemeys on December the 4th see 👀 you all Monday!
