🎱 GRIMSBY & DISTRICT JUNIOR ACADEMY – WEEKLY SESSION REPORT 🎱

Nice and early with this week's academy report… mainly because I forgot to do last week's! 🫣😂 Apologies, everyone!

Today we had 8 juniors in attendance, with quite a few missing due to football and other commitments. ⚽ Despite the lower numbers, the 8 who attended were absolutely fantastic and put in some excellent performances! 👏🎱

We kicked things off with a break-building routine, which all the juniors really enjoyed and took plenty away from. We then moved into match scenarios before progressing to a straight handicapped knockout competition. 🔴🟡🟢

What followed was a series of tough, competitive matches, with plenty going all the way to the final colours! 😮‍💨👏 This is exactly the sort of matchplay experience that helps our juniors develop their tactical awareness, composure and decision-making under pressure.

🏆 TODAY'S COMPETITION FINAL

Congratulations to Ethan Hornigold, who took the winner's spot after facing Noah Cuthbert in a fantastic final! 👏🎉

Ethan showed some excellent matchplay throughout the day and produced a superb 35 break in the final. He also recorded breaks of 79 and 51 during the session! 🔥🎱

Well played, Ethan, and congratulations to Noah on reaching the final! 👏

But it's not just about the winner. Every junior who attended played some excellent snooker, and it's fantastic to see how quickly they are developing and improving their games. 💪🎱

Progress doesn't happen overnight. It comes from turning up, putting in the work, learning from every frame and enjoying the journey. Today was another great example of that! 🙌

A big well done to all 8 juniors who attended today. The academy is proud of every one of you! ❤️🎱

Hopefully, we'll see plenty more of our juniors returning next week. Until then, keep practising, keep learning and, most importantly, keep enjoying your snooker! 👊🎱

🏆🎱 EPSB U21 TOUR EVENT 2 – WELL DONE, JUNIORS! 🎱🏆

A huge congratulations to our juniors who competed in the recent EPSB U21 Tour Event 2 at The Wi******er Club in Wigston, Leicester. 👏👏

They all represented the academy brilliantly, competing against some of the best U21 juniors in the country. 🇬🇧🎱

It was another long, demanding day of competition, but there were some superb performances and fantastic results along the way. Every match, every frame and every experience is another step forward in their snooker journey. 💪

It’s been an extremely busy month of competition for our juniors, so they now get a well-earned little break before the next challenge — the EPSB U16 Tour Event. 🔥

The whole academy is incredibly proud of every one of you. ❤️

Keep enjoying your snooker, keep putting the work in and, most importantly, keep progressing. The journey is a long one, but you’re all showing what can be achieved with commitment, hard work and the right support. 👌🎱

👏 Well done lads — the whole academy is behind you!

Now it’s back to the tables… see you all Saturday at Academy Session! 🎱💙

🎱 BETTER LATE THAN NEVER! 🎱

Sorry for the lateness with this post — we’ve been extremely busy behind the scenes with Academy admin, competitions and the usual snooker madness! 😂 But we couldn’t let this one go without giving Ethan and Noah the recognition they deserve.

Here are a couple of pictures of the lads proudly wearing their Grimsby & District Junior Academy tops in their hotels, as they prepared to compete in EPSB U16 Tour Event 1. 👏🎱

This is exactly what our Academy is all about — giving juniors the opportunity to learn, develop and compete at the highest levels possible. 💪

Both Ethan and Noah were competing against some of the best U16 juniors in the country, and they didn't look out of place. They both played superbly, more than holding their own at this level, and gained invaluable experience that will help them continue developing as players.

We don't expect progress to happen overnight. We work with our juniors, develop their games step by step and, when they're ready, help give them the opportunity to test themselves against the very best. 🎱📈

We're incredibly proud of Ethan and Noah, not just for their performances, but for the effort, commitment and attitude they continue to show.

🌟 The future of Grimsby & District Junior Academy is looking very bright! 🌟

And this weekend it's straight back into action as they head to Leicester for the U21 event! 🔥🎱

Good luck lads — keep learning, keep improving and most importantly, enjoy every minute of the journey.

The whole Academy is behind you! ❤️🎱👏

The Academy fully supports you and will continue to support you, just as we do with ALL of our juniors. ❤️

We are incredibly proud of every single one of you and the effort, commitment and determination you all put into improving your snooker. 🥰🎱

Play well lads, give it your best and most importantly… ENJOY IT! 👊

The whole Academy will be behind you and watching your progress. 👀🎱

And great to see you both taking it easy and relaxing the night before a big tournament… exactly as it should be! 😂👏

Good luck lads — go and enjoy the experience! 🍀🎱

🎱 SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITY 🎱

We’re looking for local businesses who would like to support the next wave of snooker talent from our area! 🌟

This season, 5 of our juniors will be competing nationally on multiple EPSB Junior Tours across various age groups — and competing at the highest level of junior amateur snooker available.

These opportunities do come at a cost.

As an academy, we have already covered the EPSB memberships and tournament entry fees for all five players. However, with tournaments taking place across the country, there are additional costs involved, particularly travel and overnight accommodation.

We are therefore looking for a business or businesses who would like to become part of their journey by sponsoring our juniors' competition waistcoats.

👕 Your company logo would be displayed on ALL 5 juniors' waistcoats throughout the season.

These waistcoats will be worn at:

🏆 U14 Stage 2
🏆 All U16 Tour Events
🏆 U16 Championship
🏆 U18 Championship
🏆 All U21 Tour Events

That means your company will receive exposure across multiple national events throughout the season, with your logo being worn by all five players as they compete around the country.

Our juniors range in age from 13 to 16, with our youngest competing at U14 level and our eldest already competing on the U21 circuit at just 16 years old.

They are members of the longest-running and most successful junior snooker academy in the area, with numerous titles and achievements across the academy over the years.

Most importantly, we are a Community Interest Company (CIC). We are not a business and we don't operate for profit — every penny raised goes straight back into supporting our juniors, their development, coaching and opportunities to progress in the sport.

❤️ By sponsoring the waistcoats, you won't just be getting your company logo on a shirt.

You'll be helping five young local players compete nationally, gain invaluable experience and hopefully progress towards the next level of the sport.

If you're a local company interested in supporting grassroots sport and investing in the next generation of talent, we'd love to hear from you.

📩 Please get in touch for more information about the sponsorship opportunity.

Let's get behind our juniors and see just how far they can go! 🎱🏆
