BIG NEWS FROM THE ACADEMY!

As the start of the 26/27 snooker season approaches we are incredibly excited to announce that the Academy will be providing funding for our juniors to enter EPSB Tour events!

We believe competitive opportunities are a huge part of a young player’s development, and we’re delighted to be able to support our juniors as they gain valuable match experience, build confidence and enjoy competing on the EPSB Tour.

To make this possible we will be covering the costs of each junior's EPSB Annual Registration Fee for the season and the entry free for every event they wish to participate in.

Apologies for being a little late with this week’s Saturday Junior Session update! 🎱😊

We had a fantastic 15 eager juniors turn up, all ready to learn, practice and improve! 👏🔥

As always, we started the session with a drill, and this week we focused on break-building. Every drill is tailored to the ability of each individual group, ensuring that all the juniors are challenged at the right level and get the most out of their time with us. 💪🎱

The juniors took to the drills excellently and, as always, they were keen to put what they had learned into practice when we moved into matchplay. 🏆

There was some fantastic matchplay on show, and it’s brilliant to see just how much the juniors are improving week on week. 📈👏

They all understand that becoming a good snooker player doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a long journey, but they continue to turn up week after week, listen to the coaches, put the hard work in and, most importantly, enjoy themselves along the way. ❤️🎱

The best part is seeing the smiles on their faces as they start to recognise their own progress and improvement. 😁👏

🎱 Another Fantastic Saturday at the Academy! 🎱
A little late with this week's post due to holidays and a busy schedule, but what a great turnout we had at Saturday's junior academy session! 👏
We had 13 juniors in attendance, despite several regulars jetting off on their summer holidays... we'll let them off this time! 😄☀️✈️
It was also great to welcome three new starters to the academy - Mason, Colby and Charlie. All three settled in brilliantly and were a real credit to themselves. Welcome to the team! 💙🎱
As always, we started the session with some relaxed drills tailored to each group's ability level before moving into match play. Win or lose, every junior enjoyed themselves and could clearly see how the practice routines help improve different areas of their game.
👏 A huge congratulations to Colby, who was named Player of the Week on his very first snooker taster session! His attitude, willingness to learn and natural ability really stood out. He showed fantastic potential, and if he continues the way he has started, he's certainly a name to watch in the future... 👀⭐
It's fantastic to see all of our juniors flourishing and improving week after week. They're beginning to understand that success doesn't happen overnight, but their commitment to turning up every week, listening, learning and enjoying themselves is paying off. The friendships they're building and the enjoyment they get from spending time with like-minded juniors is just as important as their development on the table. 🤝💙
We're also delighted to see more of our academy players entering national tournaments to test themselves against stronger opposition. Our hats go off to every one of you! 🎩👏 You are all a credit to both yourselves and the academy.
Keep bringing the same fantastic attitudes every week, because the hard work is paying off and the results are starting to show! 💪🎱

Everyone at Grimsby & District Junior Academy would like to wish one of our former juniors, Jake Chamberlain, the very best of luck after being selected to represent the England Under-21 A Team in the upcoming Home Internationals in Leeds! 👏🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Jake joined our academy when he was just 14/15 years old, where he developed his game under the guidance of our coaching team. Although he moved on from the academy after turning 18, he has continued to work hard, compete, and improve his snooker. Now, at 19, that dedication has been rewarded with a fantastic opportunity to represent his country. 🌟💪

📸 These photos take us back to Jake's time at the academy, playing in the Under-18 District Final. On that occasion he was defeated by another one of our talented juniors, but it was a brilliant achievement and a reminder of the quality coming through our academy. 🎱👏

We are incredibly proud to have played a small part in Jake's journey and are delighted to see one of our former juniors earning international recognition. Our academy continues to produce talented young snooker players who compete on the national circuit, and we hope Jake is the first of many to pull on an England shirt in the years to come. 🇬🇧❤️

We'll be following Jake's progress closely throughout the tournament and cheering him on every step of the way! 👏🎱

🎱 What a fantastic event yesterday!! 🎱

Grimsby & District Junior Academy was invited to Leeds Northern Snooker Centre yesterday to compete in the annual Multi Academy Competition. 🏆
This year, four academies took part – Halifax, Alfreton, Leeds, and ourselves. This is the second year we've been invited since the competition was introduced last year, and we'd like to say a huge thank you to Allen Slingsby for the invitation and to Northern Snooker Centre Official for being fantastic hosts. 👏
We offered all of our juniors the opportunity to take part, and 12 juniors made the trip to compete in this brilliant event. 💪🎱
Unfortunately, Leeds retained their title 🏆, but the result was secondary to the incredible experience gained by all of our players. For some of our juniors, this was their very first competition, and they all represented the academy with fantastic attitude, sportsmanship and determination. 🌟
The experience they've gained is priceless, and some were already asking "When's the next competition?" 🤣🤣
A brilliant day was had by everyone! We'd also like to say a massive thank you to our sponsors, whose generous support meant we could buy all of the juniors lunch and keep them supplied with drinks throughout the day. 🍔🥤
Although... we've still got no idea where some of our smallest juniors managed to put all that food! 😂🤣 Thanks go to Laura Willis who kept them fed and watered all day
Well done to every single junior who took part – we're incredibly proud of you all! 👏💙🎱

🎱 Academy Update 🎱

Unfortunately, there was no academy session last week due to the unavailability of our coaches. Instead, the juniors enjoyed a free practice session to keep their cue arms moving! 👏

This week it was back to normal, with an eager group of 12 juniors in attendance! 💪😊 A few were unable to make it because of the warm weather ☀️ and family commitments 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦, but those who did attend showed fantastic focus, great attitudes, and a real willingness to take on board the coaches' guidance. 👏

We started the session with some relaxed potting and break-building routines before gradually moving into match play 🏆. The heat certainly made things a little tougher 🥵, but everyone kept smiling, worked hard, and enjoyed the session. 💯🙌

All of the hard work is building towards our Annual Inter Academy Tournament at the Northern Snooker Centre, Leeds 📍 on 25th July , where our juniors will compete against some of the best snooker academies in the country. 🇬🇧

Keep up the fantastic work, everyone! 👏💙 Your dedication and commitment are a credit to yourselves, and we're looking forward to seeing you all in action. 💪🌟
