The boys take on Theddo Lions in their final game of the season. The boys will be looking to end the season on a high after last week’s disappointment, and I’m sure the gaffer .wilding.3 won’t be wanting his last game in charge to be a loss.

2-1 defeat in the final.

A well deserved victory for a very strong Sands side.

The Trawl take on Sands United in the Junior Challenge Cup Final. A 19:30 kick off on the premier pitch at Bradley.

Come down and support the boys in what is their first final together as a club!

The boys came away with a 5-3 win at the weekend! A weird game, with an okay performance and some strange goals from The Trawl that helped them come away with the 3 points.

A good start from the boys and a long ball over the top saw put away the first within a minute.

A not so good rest of the first half saw them go into half time 3-1 down.

In the second half, we were much better. Pressing the opposition well, and finding some good passes in the middle of the park to then spread wide to the wingers. It wasn’t open play that helped the boys score goals though. .reeve32 put in a corner from the right which was helped into the goal from the opposition keeper. then put in two corners from the opposite side which again went straight into the net to put us 4-3 ahead. A poor free kick that slipped through the keepers gloves was the last kick of the game which meant scored his fourth.

Not a great performance, but definitely things we can take away from the game.

The boys came away with 3 points against Sands United!!

A tough test, as expected. Good practice for the upcoming final too! The date has been announced👀

The boys started well and had a brilliant first half, having the majority of the chances and kept Sands at bay throughout. Early goals from and .reeve32 helped The Trawl take a 2-1 lead into half-time.

At the start of the second half it was more of the same but as legs started to tire, Sands started getting their chances. Some long balls over the top of our defence and some neat footwork from their midfield brought them back into the game. headed in from a corner to make it 3 for The Trawl, and to seal the win got the fourth.

A big result for the boys in many ways. Beating a team who beat us 7-0 earlier on in the season, a team that we’re playing in the cup final but also putting us in potential contention for the league as well. The boys are on a 9 game undefeated streak and with the way the boys are playing, it’s going to take some stopping.

Well done to Sands on the day. A really strong team with a some great football to match! Made it difficult for the boys through. We’ll see you in the final🤝

4-1 win for the boys at the weekend!

A well fought game from both sides, but after a warm day on a big pitch it was The Trawl who came out on top.

Surely a first for a Sunday league team to have 3 goalkeepers signed on, and they all played today! having a great game in goal. Great reflex saves and some perfect distribution. strong as ever, in a bit of a different set up. First time the boys have played in a back 3, but after half an hour it became reasonably comfortable. Even managed to get an assist I believe, alongside another of the back 3 in .haines 👏🏻 Then Tom Taylor stepping in at left wing back in the second half and looking comfortable, with some brilliant forward passes.

Always a difficult game against Winns FC, and we always know what to expect from them. Some good football through the middle from boys who look like they’ve played together for years. Eventually the Trawl midfield managed to work it out, after tiring first 45 minutes of just chasing and not really having the ball.

A classic performance proved to be the difference. Staying on their backline and chasing every ball down. Making some great runs to either create space for others, or having the ball played through for him. Worked tirelessly in the attack and ended up bagging a hat trick for himself, and very well deserved. Player of the Match performance in the opinion of the admin👏🏻

It finally happened for our number 9, he got a goal from open play!! After scoring all of his goals from the penalty spot this season, he made his way past their Winns defender with ease and smashed the ball into the roof of the net. This doesn’t take a way from his performances as a striker though, as he has been key to the link up play for The Trawl this season.
