A Bright Morning at GY Cue Masters Academy π±
The morning sun lit up the GY Cue Masters Academy as Shane, our enthusiastic coach, welcomed everyone to the tables with a big grin. Alongside the regular juniors, two new starters joined the session, eyes wide with excitement (and maybe a tiny bit of βwhat have I signed up for?β nerves π
).
Shane kept things simple and fun. βGrip and stance first, lads,β he said, demonstrating a relaxed bridge and solid back leg like a pro. The group practiced smooth pendulum cueing strokes though a couple of wobbly ones had everyone giggling π. Then they moved on to ghost ball aiming and stop-shot drills. The two new starters quickly improved, going from βoops, where did that ball go?β to pocketing shots like mini champions, earning big smiles and cheers from the other juniors as balls clicked cleanly across the baize π±β¨.
They finished with basic safety play, learning control and thinking ahead (because nobody wants to leave the cue ball sitting there like an easy target for your mate π). Laughter mixed with the clack of balls as everyone progressed together.
By the end, the two new starters were beaming from ear to ear, already feeling part of the crew and buzzing for more mornings with Shane and the juniors! π

Happy Birthday to our fantastic junior snooker coach! π
Thank you for all the patience, encouragement, and expert guidance you give to our young players. You're not just teaching them how to pot balls and build breaks, you're building confidence, character, and a real love for the game.
Wishing you a wonderful day filled with high breaks, perfect pots, and plenty of celebration. May this new year around the table bring you as much joy as you bring to all of us on the baize!
Have a brilliant birthday!
From all of us at GY snooker academy π± π

Another amazing turnout at the academy today! We were delighted to welcome 3 new starters β three fantastic young ladies who wanted to see what weβre all about, and from the moment they arrived, they fitted in straight away.
We started, as always, with a warm-up before moving on to the White to Black Challenge, followed by some match practice. Meanwhile, our new starters were introduced to the basics of the game, helping them get a feel for cue sports and build their confidence.
The highlight of the day? On the way out, one of the mums was greeted with the question: βMum, can we have a cue for Christmas?β π€£π€£
We are truly grateful for the continued support of our coaches, our ambassador Stan Moody, and everyone working behind the scenes. Your generosity, help, and encouragement make what we do possible, and it is greatly appreciated.
Thank you to everyone involved for helping create such a welcoming and positive environment for our young players. We canβt wait to see everyone again next session! π±π
