🏃♀️ CLUB NEWS 🏃♂️
Members of our club were out at the Tape2Tape Events Grimsby 10k this morning, encouraging runners at our cheer station - including a drum beat to keep runner spirits up!
It was wonderful to see so many people taking part - some looking for a personal best, others running for charity, the ‘just because’ crew and those looking to achieve a personal challenge!
Well done to every single person who took part in today’s 10k - everyone should be super proud of themselves!
Now, if you can run 10k, running around a hockey pitch is pretty achievable! Come and join us… 🏑
Seniors: Thursdays 7pm - 830pm
Juniors: Saturdays 930am - 1030am
Both at Ormiston Maritime Academy. Get in touch for more info!

🚨 CLUB NEWS 🚨
The season might be over for the moment, however hockey continues for these players as not one, but THREE of our U12 boys were selected this month to represent the Humber in Leeds.
Oscar, Oliver and Eli have been working hard with their Humber Hockey coaches and all three were delighted to be part of the team.
Humber came joint second overall in their tournament at the start of the month and GHC are proud to announce that all three have been selected once again this coming Sunday.
Keep up the great work, boys! Everyone at GHC is super proud!

Our thoughts are with our hockey family at Horncastle Hockey Club
Always an encouraging and positive presence on the pitch, she embodied the hockey ethos. We send our love to Sue’s friends and family.
Rest well. 💛

🏆 END OF SEASON DINNER 25/26 🏆
The GHC squads and guests got suited and booted, prepped and polished for our annual End of Season Dinner and awards evening.
It was fantastic to come together as a club to celebrate the season, with awards presented, plenty of laughs, a raffle, and great food enjoyed by all. Everyone looked incredible and it was a perfect chance to recognise achievements, reflect on the season, and reminisce on some of the more memorable (and funny!) moments along the way.
A brilliant night that truly showed what our club is all about — coming together on and off the pitch.
Huge congrats to our winners and much appreciation to our coaches, umpires and ‘behind the scenes crew’ who work hard to ensure our club continues to thrive.
Looking forward to next season already!
🖤❤️🤍

🥳 Well done you superstars! 🥳

👉🏻 WE NEED YOU 👈🏻
Grimsby Hockey Club runs thanks to the time, energy and commitment of our volunteers. A lot goes on behind the scenes.
As our club continues to grow, we’re looking for more members to get involved on many levels and help support the next stage of our development. Whether you have specific skills, relevant experience, or simply a willingness to help, there are a range of roles available — and plenty of ways to contribute, from committee positions to supporting events, helping our junior squads, and club activities throughout the season.
You don’t need to take on a formal role to get involved — even a small amount of time can make a big difference. As a club we run a number of social events throughout the year, and support is always welcome, whether that’s helping set up the end of season dinner, lending a hand at junior tournaments, or getting involved in club socials. There are plenty of opportunities for everyone to play a part!
Please speak to committee members or team captains for more information on the roles and to find out more about how you can help!

🏑 CLUB NEWS 🏑
GHC coaches welcomed Royal Air Force Cadets from Immingham and Grimsby squadrons on Thursday 30th April for a hockey taster session. Cadets from Immingham Air Cadets and 195 Grimsby Squadron ATC, Royal Air Force Air Cadets joined a session led by Coach Shane to introduce them to the sport.
The group took part in skills and drills, learning shooting and dribbling before putting their new skills into practice in mini games — a great introduction to what our club is all about!
A big thank you to Steve for organising, and to Coach Shane and the wider GHC coaching team for showing everyone the ropes!
We hope all the cadets had a great time! Many picked up the skills naturally — and you’d be very welcome back on the pitch anytime!
🏑 Training Details:
Senior training – Thursdays, 7:00–8:30pm
Junior training – Saturdays, 9:30–10:30am
Both sessions run at Ormiston Maritime Academy. Get in touch if you fancy joining us!

🦡 GHC BADGERS RESULTS 🦡
What a great Sunday this bunch had! An early trip out to Horncastle to play two games of hockey against Alford & District Hockey Club and Horncastle Hockey Club
We were joined by players from our friends Brigg Hockey Club and Louth Hockey Club to ensure all who wanted to play had the opportunity to. These Badgers games are designed to bridge the gap between junior and senior hockey, building game awareness and resilience, guided by their coaches and older team mates who play alongside them, supporting in real time.
The squad secured two out of two, winning both games in matches that were end to end and showcased some brilliant young players from all clubs involved. All adult players encouraged every junior player, regardless of club which really highlighted what the ‘hockey family’ is about!
Our Player of the Match was Harriet, who made her debut with the team! Harriet is beginning to move up it to GHC’s older group at Saturday training and our girl did the club proud! She didn’t back down, had amazing positioning on the pitch and the progress in her confidence throughout each game was wonderful to see!
Huge thanks to Coach Tammy for organising this great opportunity!
