⚽ FULL TIME | Lionesses 2–0 Grimsby United Grimbarians ⚽

A tough game for the Grimbarians today, with the lads going down 2–0 against the Lionesses but on another day it could’ve been a draw. We were unlucky.

The first goal was certainly debatable, with the ball appearing to have gone out of play beforehand. Unfortunately, the decision went against us and we found ourselves chasing the game.

The Grimbarians battled hard and created a couple of really good chances, but were unlucky not to get on the scoresheet. There was plenty of effort, determination and some great battling from the lads right until the final whistle. 👏⚽

🏆 PARENTS & MANAGERS’ AWARD — DANIEL 🏆
A fantastic performance from Daniel today! Excellent effort in defence, tracking up and down the pitch and working tirelessly for the team. He also had a couple of good efforts on goal. A well-deserved award! 👏🔥

🏆 COACHES’ AWARD — TOBY 🏆
Toby picked up the Coaches’ Award for his fantastic effort today. He put in a real shift for the team, giving everything from start to finish. 💪⚽

Well done boys — the result might not have gone our way, but the effort and attitude were there for all to see. Keep going, Grimbarians! 🖤🤍

Despite the result, there were plenty of positives to take from the performance. The lads kept fighting right until the final whistle and never gave up.

💪 Heads up, Grimbarians — keep working hard and we go again! 🖤🤍

Thank you to both sponsors OurCar - Car Sales and Grimsby Tree, branch, root and garden services

Thank you to all the coaches, parents and of course the players.

🏆 THE FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON! 🎉💙

⚽ Match 4 of the Season

💙 THIS ONE WAS NEEDED! 💙

There are wins...

And then there are GRIMBARIAN WINS! 😍🔥⚽

On an overcast Sunday morning at Laceby Sports Ground, the Grimbarians arrived for an early 9:30am away fixture against the Laceby Mammoths.

There was a light breeze, around 15°C and thankfully only the tiniest little drop of rain — barely enough to bother anyone! 🌦️😄

Well...

Almost everyone.

Because one particular Grimbarians goalkeeper decided that 9:30am was perhaps a little early and arrived fashionably late! 😂🧤

Yes, Harlow made his grand entrance just in time to join the squad and get himself between the sticks.

Better late than never! 😜👏

With the FULL SQUAD available, the Grimbarians were ready for battle.

Harlow 🧤 Noah 🛡️ Henry 💪 Toby ⚡ Kian ⚡ Mousa 🎯 Zak 🔥 Leo 🚀 Daniel 💨 George 🧠

Ten Grimbarians.

One team.

And today, they were determined to get that first win.

💙💙💙 LET'S GO, GRIMBARIANS! 💙💙💙

⚽ FIRST HALF — GRIMBARIANS FLY OUT! 🚀

Harlow started in goal 🧤, with Noah and Henry at the back 🛡️, Kian and Daniel on the wings ⚡, George in midfield 🧠 and Mousa leading the line 🎯.

Toby, Zak and Leo were ready to come on and make their impact from the bench.

And what an opening it was!

The Grimbarians immediately looked sharp. 👌⚽

The passing was spot on, everyone was involved and the movement was excellent.

Kian's early shot was parried by the Mammoths keeper, but it was a huge statement of intent.

We were here to attack. 🔥

Daniel and Mousa were causing all sorts of problems further forward, while Kian and Noah looked calm and assured.

There were some fantastic tackles flying in too. 💪🛡️

Then...

😱 MOUSA ALMOST OPENS THE SCORING!

Mousa robbed the goalkeeper, found himself through and struck the post! 😱🥅

SO CLOSE!

The Grimbarians were absolutely flying.

Five attacks. Zero Mammoths attacks.

Toby came on for Noah, and Kian continued to have the Mammoths defence chasing shadows.

Quick feet. ⚡

Great control. ⚡

Little changes of direction. ⚡

Kian eventually got his shot away — SAVED!

Unlucky!

Then Daniel produced a brilliant run and fired at goal, with the keeper doing well to parry it.

Henry's lovely pass had helped create the chance. 👌

Henry, Daniel, George and Mousa combined beautifully, with Daniel's effort forcing another corner.

And somewhere amongst all this...

😂 KIAN GOT THREE KEEPY-UPPIES!

Three!

During the match!

Because apparently scoring goals isn't enough. 😂⚽

Henry then tested the keeper with a low effort towards the bottom left corner.

Saved!

The chances were raining down almost as heavily as the actual...

Well...

Tiny bit of rain! 🌦️😂

🎯 FINALLY... THE BREAKTHROUGH!

The pressure was becoming impossible for the Mammoths to contain.

Henry picked his moment perfectly and threaded a superb through ball into Mousa's path.

Mousa kept his cool.

😎

One touch.

A composed finish.

Bottom left.

GOOOOOOAL! ⚽🔥

🦣 Laceby Mammoths 0–1 Grimbarians 💙

⚽ MOUSA
🅰️ HENRY

Six Grimbarians efforts.

Six on target.

And finally, the breakthrough we'd been waiting for!

The Mammoths briefly threatened after the Grimbarians appealed for a free kick and almost switched off.

👀 PLAY TO THE WHISTLE, BOYS!

A little reminder for everyone!

The game isn't over until the whistle goes. 😅

The Grimbarians quickly got back on top, piling on more pressure.

Henry pushed forward and fired over — our first effort off target after seven shots.

The Mammoths had managed just one effort.

Harlow was practically a spectator! 🧤☕😂

But then came a cruel moment.

A loose ball ended up at the feet of a Mammoths player and he finished well beyond Harlow.

Nothing our keeper could do.

1–1.

It felt harsh.

Very harsh.

The scoreline simply didn't tell the story of the first half.

🚀 MOUSA DOES IT AGAIN!

Toby moved into midfield.

Noah returned.

George got a well-earned rest after another fantastic shift. 👏💙

And then...

Harlow.

Long kick.

Mousa.

GOAL!

😱🔥⚽

Somehow, from deep, Mousa found a way through and produced another brilliant finish.

🦣 Laceby Mammoths 1–2 Grimbarians 💙

⚽ MOUSA — HIS SECOND!
🅰️ HARLOW

Two goals for Mousa.

Two assists for the team from two different players.

And the Grimbarians were back in front!

🔥 CHANCES, CHANCES, CHANCES!

Daniel battled brilliantly to get the ball to Mousa and another strong challenge earned us a corner.

Zak came on...

And then somehow...

😂 ZAK COULDN'T FORCE IT HOME FROM THE GOAL LINE!

Feet.

Sometimes they just get tangled! 😂😂😂

Daniel then tried one from distance.

The Mammoths goalkeeper wasn't exactly looking comfortable with these shots either! 😬

We'd lost count of the efforts by now.

10+ shots! 🔥

Leo came on for Kian after another spell of quick feet and clever dribbling. ⚡

Henry then switched play beautifully across the pitch.

Leo did brilliantly to get onto it but couldn't quite make the final touch count.

At the other end, Henry was throwing himself into tackles, Daniel was helping out and another run down the wing was stopped well.

Daniel then showed great patience from a tight angle, sending in a dangerous cross which the keeper did well to save.

Zak forced another save before the half came to an end.

⏱️ HALF-TIME
🦣 MAMMOTHS 1–2 GRIMBARIANS 💙

And honestly...

WHAT. A. HALF. 🔥🔥🔥

This was easily the best half of football we've played this season.

The passing was excellent.
The movement was brilliant.
The tackling was strong.
The teamwork was outstanding.
And the chances kept coming. ⚽⚽⚽

Mousa had two goals.

Henry and Harlow had assists.

And the Mammoths had only really created two opportunities.

But there was still another half to play...

And this one was going to be CRAZY. 😱

🔥 SECOND HALF — HOLD ONTO YOUR HATS! 🎢

George returned for Toby and the Grimbarians immediately carried on where they'd left off.

Henry produced another trademark clearance and then pushed forward, with a cheeky toe-poked effort forcing the keeper into action.

Noah then delivered a low, dangerous cross into the box.

Leo attacked it brilliantly.

⚽ GOOOOOOAL! 🚀
🦣 MAMMOTHS 1–3 GRIMBARIANS 💙

⚽ LEO!

Fantastic finish! 👏🔥

Leo wasn't finished either.

He immediately tried another shot...

SAVED!

The Grimbarians continued defending strongly, with Henry digging deep and pushing forward while Noah backed him up with a superb tackle.

But the Mammoths weren't giving up.

They won a corner.

And produced a fantastic finish off the post.

😬 2–3.

Suddenly, there was only one goal in it.

Leo tried to burst down the left and was unlucky.

Zak had another go from distance.

Kian came back on for Daniel.

And then...

🦸‍♂️ HENRY GOES ON A RUN!

The ball found Henry in defence.

And rather than simply clearing it...

HE DECIDED TO RUN THROUGH THE ENTIRE LACEBY TEAM! 😂🔥

One.

Two.

Three.

Keep going, Henry!

He powered through and finished brilliantly.

⚽ GOOOOOOOAL!
🦣 MAMMOTHS 2–4 GRIMBARIANS 💙

⚽ HENRY!

What a goal!

Noah then produced a fantastic kick-in which was just wide of Zak.

George made a brilliant run.

Zak shot.

The goalkeeper got a touch.

💥 OFF THE POST!

It could so easily have been five!

Noah then produced another brilliant defensive recovery as the Grimbarians were briefly left exposed.

Henry was rested for Toby.

The Mammoths won another corner.

And scored again.

😬 3–4.

This was becoming some game!

😱 HOW DID WE GET HERE?!

The Grimbarians were still playing well.

But suddenly the Mammoths found another gear.

A quick attack.

Another goal.

😱 4–4!

WHAT?!

From 2–4 down, the Mammoths were suddenly level.

For a few minutes, the Grimbarians' previously brilliant passing game seemed to disappear.

The Mammoths nearly found a fifth.

Kian tried from distance but sent it wide.

Noah crossed.

Leo volleyed...

Wide!

We kept attacking, but the Mammoths had two forwards combining dangerously.

Another break.

Another finish.

😱 5–4 MAMMOTHS.

We had gone from 4–2 up to 5–4 down.

Football is a funny old game. 😳⚽

But there was one thing this Grimbarians team had plenty of...

💙 FIGHT. 💙
🔥 THE GRIMBARIANS FIGHT BACK!

Leo, Mousa and George came desperately close to finding the equaliser.

The ball somehow went wide.

AGONY! 😩

Henry returned.

Daniel delivered a kick-in which nearly caused a Mammoths own goal.

The pressure was building.

And then Henry pushed forward again...

⚽ GOAL!
🦣 MAMMOTHS 5–5 GRIMBARIANS 💙

BACK LEVEL!

The Grimbarians weren't done.

Not even close.

Daniel then surged forward.

He found space.

He finished.

⚽ GOOOOOOOOAL! 🔥🔥🔥
🦣 MAMMOTHS 5–6 GRIMBARIANS 💙
DANIEL! 🚀⚽

FROM 5–4 DOWN...

TO 6–5 UP!

The Grimbarians had turned it around again!

But surely there couldn't be another twist?

Oh yes there could...

🏆 NOAH MAKES IT SEVEN!

The Grimbarians attacked again.

And again.

And then...

⚽ NOAH! 💥💥💥
🦣 MAMMOTHS 5–7 GRIMBARIANS 💙

SEVEN!

SEVEN GOALS!

The comeback was complete.

From 5–4 down to 7–5 winners!

What a team.

What a fight.

What a finish.

🎉 FULL-TIME!
🦣 LACEBY MAMMOTHS 5–7 GRIMBARIANS ⚽💙

And then...

🏆 THE FINAL WHISTLE! 🏆

Cue the celebrations! 🎉🎉🎉

The Grimbarians had done it.

OUR FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON!

And boy did they make us work for it! 😅🔥

💙⚽ GRIMBARIANS v LIONESSES ⚽💙
Game 3 | The Barretts | Sunday 20th September 2026

☀️ Sunny • 15°C • Breezy • 10am Kick-Off

Game three of the season saw our Grimsby United Grimbarians back at The Barretts for another Sunday morning of football, sunshine, plenty of running and, as always, plenty of noise from the sidelines! 📣⚽

Kian was away today, so we were missing him from the squad — hopefully we'll see you back with us next time, Kian! 💙

It was also great to have Toby back, joining:

Harlow, Henry, Noah, Mousa, George, Zak, Leo and Daniel.

And before we get into the football, a huge thank you to our referee, coaches, parents, friends and family for all the support and encouragement. 👏💙

These boys are only ten, and having a group of people behind them every week makes such a difference.

⚽ QUARTER ONE — LET'S GET GOING!

We started with Harlow in goal, Noah and Henry in defence, Toby in midfield, Leo and Daniel out wide and Mousa leading the line, with George and Zak ready to make their impact.

The opening minutes were nicely balanced, with both sides battling for possession.

Noah and Henry were straight into their defensive duties, putting in some important clearances, while Toby worked hard in the middle to help link the play.

Out wide, Leo and Daniel were looking to get forward whenever they could, while Mousa was doing what Mousa does best — battling away and making life difficult for the defenders! 💪

Mousa produced the first real shot of the game, getting himself into a good position before sending his effort just wide.

The Lionesses then had an opportunity of their own, but their effort went over.

At the other end, Noah delivered a good kick-in which just needed the slightest touch from someone in front of goal. So close!

The Lionesses began to put some pressure on and produced a dangerous cross-shot, but Harlow was ready, making an excellent save to keep the ball out of the top corner. 🧤🔥

Unfortunately, the resulting corner was knocked into the box and, despite Harlow almost keeping it out, the ball crossed the line.

Grimbarians 0–1 Lionesses

There was another dangerous moment in defence before the ball eventually went out of play to bring the first quarter to an end.

A competitive start and plenty for the boys to build on. 💙

⚽ QUARTER TWO — ZAK LEVELS IT! 🎉

George and Zak came on and immediately got stuck in.

The Grimbarians produced a lovely little kick-off routine, although the Lionesses soon came forward themselves.

They hit the top of the bar with a great effort, but the Grimbarians didn't panic.

A formation change saw Noah push further into midfield, where he continued to show his strength and energy, while Henry was again producing those huge clearances that have become something of a trademark! 💥

Daniel was showing some lovely touches out on the wing and Leo continued working hard to give the team an attacking option.

Then Zak got a shot away after some good work from Leo, forcing an excellent save and winning a corner.

Daniel delivered it and Leo met the ball with a volley — unfortunately it didn't quite have enough power, but it showed the boys were starting to put the Lionesses under pressure.

George was busy in the middle, helping move the ball forward and looking for opportunities to get Zak and the others into attacking positions.

Then came a huge chance...

Zak hit the inside of the post! 😱

For a second, it looked like it was in!

The pressure continued. Noah had an effort blocked before the ball fell kindly to Zak...

⚽💥 GOOOOOOOAL! ZAK! 💥⚽

Zak found the back of the net to bring us level!

And a special mention for Noah, who supplied the assist. 🎯👏

1–1!

The boys had worked their way back into the game.

Unfortunately, the Lionesses responded almost immediately and regained the lead.

Grimbarians 1–2 Lionesses

Mousa came back into the action as the boys looked for another response, but the ball eventually went out and brought the quarter to an end.

HALF-TIME: GRIMBARIANS 1–2 LIONESSES

Still plenty to play for! 💙

⚽ QUARTER THREE — POSTS & CORNERS! 🚩

The Lionesses attacked straight away, but their effort went wide.

The Grimbarians responded with some excellent work from Mousa, who produced a great run down the wing and fired the ball across before the keeper made the save.

George was also becoming increasingly influential, producing some lovely play in the middle and threading a ball through to Zak, who got his shot away but couldn't quite generate enough power.

At the back, Noah was putting in another strong defensive performance, while Henry continued to battle away and make sure the Lionesses didn't get things all their own way.

Daniel delivered another good kick-in before getting a shot away himself, but the keeper stood strong.

Then...

💥 OFF THE POST! 😱

A long ball hit the left post.

So unlucky!

Mousa, now operating on the right, got another shot away, but once again the Lionesses' keeper was equal to it.

The Grimbarians then went on a little corner-kick spree...

One corner... another corner... and ANOTHER! 🚩🚩🚩

Three in a row!

Daniel met one with a volley but couldn't quite keep it on target.

Leo continued to work hard out wide, looking to make himself available and help get the team forward whenever possible.

Another attack saw Daniel try a right-footed effort which went just wide.

For large parts of the quarter, the boys were holding the Lionesses really well.

Unfortunately, the visitors found an opening and finished it.

1–3.

Then another strong Lionesses attack ended with a cracking finish.

1–4.

Despite the scoreline, the Grimbarians continued to attack, with Mousa producing another strong effort which was saved.

Henry came on for Toby, and the boys kept battling until the whistle.

END OF Q3: GRIMBARIANS 1–4 LIONESSES
⚽ QUARTER FOUR — NEVER STOP! 💙

The final quarter saw Toby and Zak rested before the boys got back to work.

Henry decided he wasn't finished with the attacking business either! 😂

He drove forward through the middle and fired a long-range effort wide.

Then another...

And another...

The third one was closer!

Henry had clearly decided that today was shooting practice! 🎯😂

At the other end, Harlow made another good save, while the Grimbarians somehow survived a proper bit of pinball in their own box before finally getting the ball clear! 😅

Zak came back on for George, while Toby returned for Leo.

It was great to see Toby back in the action and he immediately tried to make something happen with a forward run.

The boys continued to dig in.

Zak, Toby and Mousa nearly combined for another goal, with Mousa's effort going just wide.

The Lionesses eventually added another goal to make it 1–5, but there was absolutely no sign of the Grimbarians giving up.

They defended a quick kick-in well, survived another corner and then produced one last little attack down the left.

And then...

🏁 FULL TIME!
GRIMBARIANS 1–5 LIONESSES
💙 BUT HERE'S THE THING...

Three games.

Three results that haven't gone our way.

But these boys are TEN YEARS OLD.

They're learning.

They're developing.

They're trying different positions.

They're learning how to play together.

And most importantly...

THEY'RE HAVING FUN PLAYING FOOTBALL. ⚽😁💙

Today we saw Harlow making excellent saves, Henry defending, clearing and even deciding he was a striker for the fourth quarter! 😂

We saw Noah putting in a strong defensive performance, moving into midfield and producing the assist for Zak's goal.

We saw Mousa battling up front and producing some excellent runs and shots from the wing.

We saw George working hard in the middle and creating opportunities with some lovely passing.

We saw Toby return to the squad and get straight back into the action.

We saw Zak hit the post, keep going and then score our goal! ⚽🔥

We saw Leo working hard out wide, making himself available and getting involved in the attacking play.

And we saw Daniel producing good touches, dangerous kick-ins, corners, volleys and shots as he continued to look for a way through.

Every single one contributed.

Every single one battled.

Every single one kept going.

And that's something to be proud of. 💙👏

🏆 TODAY'S AWARDS
⭐ Parents' Award — NOAH

A fantastic all-round performance, with strong defending, plenty of energy and a brilliant assist for Zak's goal. 👏

⭐ Coaches' Award — GEORGE

For his effort, energy and willingness to get involved and make things happen. 👏

Well deserved, boys! 🏆

💙⚽ KEEP GOING, GRIMBARIANS! ⚽💙

Three games doesn't define a season.

And three results certainly don't define a group of ten-year-olds.

The boys will win games.

They'll lose games.

They'll score goals.

They'll miss chances.

They'll make mistakes.

They'll learn.

And they'll get better.

But the most important thing is that they keep turning up, keep supporting each other and keep enjoying their football.

So let's keep cheering.

Keep encouraging.

Keep laughing.

Keep learning.

And keep having fun. 😁💙

RUN. PLAY. LEARN. SUPPORT. SMILE. REPEAT. ⚽🔥

A massive thank you once again to the coaches, referee, parents, family and friends for everything you do for these boys.

The results will come in time.

For now...

WELL PLAYED, GRIMBARIANS! 💙👏⚽

💙⚽ GRIMBARIANS MATCH REPORT ⚽💙
Immingham Pilgrims 4–1 Grimbarians | 13th September

Game two of the season saw our Grimbarians head away to face a strong Immingham Pilgrims side on a soft slightly damp but dry Barracks pitch. ☁️⚽

With Toby away today, Mousa, Noah, George, Harlow, Leo, Daniel, Henry, Kian and Zak stepped up and put in a huge shift. 💪💙

We started brightly, with Harlow making an early save and Noah putting in some great blocks at the back. Daniel's dangerous low cross nearly found its man, while Zak worked hard up front to give us an outlet.

Immingham eventually took the lead, but we responded brilliantly. A strong run from Noah helped create the opening, Henry drove forward from the right and finished superbly into the bottom corner to make it 1–1! 🎯🔥

The second quarter saw plenty of changes, with Kian battling away in midfield and defence, George stepping in with some excellent work and Leo and Daniel working hard on both wings. Mousa brought plenty of energy and pace when he came on, while Harlow continued to produce some cracking saves. 🧤👏

Immingham regained the lead, but the Grimbarians kept battling. Henry continued to put in the miles, Noah drove forward from midfield, and Kian even produced a few cheeky Ronaldo-style skills! 😎⚽ George wasn't afraid to keep getting stuck in either, making a superb sliding challenge to stop another attack.

The final quarter was all about digging deep. Harlow made more saves, Noah and George worked hard to keep things tight at the back, while Leo, Daniel and Kian continued to look for a way forward. Zak came agonisingly close with a great effort that just missed the bottom corner, and Mousa continued to use his pace whenever we got the chance to break. ⚡

Immingham added two more, but there was no lack of effort from our boys, who kept going right to the final whistle.

🏁 FULL TIME: Immingham 4–1 Grimbarians

⚽ Grimbarians goal: Henry

🌟 Parents' Player Award – Harlow 🧤
🌟 Coaches' Player Award – Noah 🧱

Both thoroughly deserved after excellent performances.

💬 COACHES' CORNER

The coaches felt it was a tough game and that we looked a little tired, but there are some great lessons to take forward: more passing, closing the ball down quicker and not allowing the opposition to walk through us.

As the coaches said, “It was a hard game, but we made it harder for ourselves.”

That's what junior football is all about — learning, improving and getting better together. 🌱💙

A huge well done to Mousa, Noah, George, Harlow, Leo, Daniel, Henry, Kian and Zak and of course the ref, for their commitment and determination today. 👏⚽

And a big thank you to all the parents, friends, relatives and coaches for the fantastic support from the sidelines! 📣💙

💙 KEEP WORKING. KEEP LEARNING. KEEP BELIEVING. 💙

On to the next one, Grimbarians! ⚽🔥

⚽️ THE GRIMBARIANS ARE BACK! 💙🔥

Keelby Eagles 5–3 Grimsby United Grimbarians U11s
📅 Sunday 6th September @ Keelby

And what a way to kick off the new season! 👏⚽️

A slightly soggy morning 🌧️, a full squad with Harlow, Noah, Toby, Leo, George, Kian, Daniel, Henry, Mousa and Zak all ready to get some valuable early-season minutes under their belts.

From the first whistle, the Grimbarians showed exactly what we wanted to see — energy, teamwork, attacking intent and plenty of fight. 💪

We fell behind early, but the response was brilliant. Henry helped create the opening, the initial shot was saved and Zak was there to finish it off. ⚽️ 1–1!

Then came another great move, with Daniel involved and getting the assist in the build-up before Zak found the net again to put us 2–1 ahead! 🔥

The opposition were then awarded a penalty following a challenge from Noah that looked like a really good tackle to pretty much everyone… except the referee! 😂🤷‍♂️

Noah can take plenty of credit for the challenge — unfortunately, the referee saw it differently! Joe, meanwhile, was very calm and composed about the decision… apparently! 😂

The penalty was converted to make it 2–2, but Noah bounced straight back and continued to have a really positive game. 💪⚽️

The boys continued to create chances, with Noah, Kian, Leo, George, Daniel and Mousa all involved in some lovely passages of play. Noah delivered a superb corner, Leo came close, and there was plenty of good football to build on.

We went into the second quarter 3–2 down, but the game was still very much there for us.

Then came another fantastic Grimbarians response! 💥

A clever lob from Noah to Toby who passed & a brilliant burst from Henry, followed by some great interplay between Zak and Leo, saw Leo fire home brilliantly to make it 3–3! ⚽️🙌

Throughout the match, the coaches were rotating positions, giving the boys the opportunity to experience different roles rather than simply sticking to the positions they have been playing.

It was great to see the players adapting, learning and getting valuable experience all over the pitch. 🔄⚽️ And with all 10 players getting a good share of minutes, everyone had the chance to make an impact and play their part in what was a fantastic squad performance. 👏

The final stages were end-to-end. Noah produced a great goal-line save with Henry combative throughout. Mousa battled for every ball, Leo worked tirelessly with his usual fab bursts, George strong & always looking for opportunities, while Zak continued to threaten going forward. Toby looking like he has adapted well in the middle & Harlow some good saves. Plus Kian was strong throughout with Daniel putting in another classy performance.

The opposition eventually found a fifth, but the Grimbarians never stopped pushing. One final attack through Mousa and Zak just wouldn't quite fall our way.

5–3 the final score, but honestly, this could easily have finished level — and with a bit more luck, we could have been celebrating an even better result.

And if VAR had been available… well, let's just say we might have had a couple of decisions overturned! 😂📺⚽️

🌟 Goals: Zak x2, Leo x1
🎯 Assists: Henry x1, Daniel x1
🏆 Parents' Player: Zak — thoroughly deserved!
⭐ Coaches' Player: George — brilliant effort!

And finally, a special mention to Ritch, Noah's dad, for a lovely touch from the sidelines… quite literally! 😂⚽️

With the ball coming flying towards him, Ritch produced a touch from his seat that wouldn't have looked out of place on the pitch! 🪑👏 A brilliant bit of sideline involvement and certainly gave everyone a laugh! 😂

Most importantly, every single Grimbarians player played their part. A brilliant team performance, plenty of minutes for everyone, lots of learning and loads of positives to take into the next game.

Be proud, boys. 💙

The Grimbarians are back — and they're only just getting started! 🔥⚽️

COME ON GRIMBARIANS! 💙💙💙
