The strength and stability you build through regular Pilates practice is an excellent foundation for other physical activities.

As a frequent runner, I have certainly experienced the benefits, but more recently I've been hugely thankful for my core stability when it comes to mountain biking!

*SWIPE* Superman is a really good one for building stability - vital when your husband is encouraging you to 'hit the gnarly sections'! ๐Ÿšดโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿง˜

Shell stretch is like hitting the reset button in Pilates. It is an opportunity to rest and stretch before the next move. A bit like a weekend really!

As a frequent runner (and more recently - mountain biker!), I like to make sure I am stretching regularly to help release tension in my hip flexors. Pigeon pose is a really good one for this as it opens the hips and stretches the glutes! Stretching is an integral part of all my Pilates classes and this one is a fave! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜
