Consistency is KEY!

A year ago when I tried this exercise I could only just hang - barely ! Then one day , it happened!

When you practice the classical order, you train your whole system to work as one unit.

You work from your centre in every exercise so that you can create the strength and stability you need to move your arms and legs.

In the video the first rep was a struggle, then my body remembered , it understood where to work from and then it became possible .

Thank you for an amazing few (sweaty) hours spent in your beautiful home studio .

I am so grateful for the time you spent , the passion you shared and the deep knowledge you imparted . I asked for an opportunity to explore some of the more advanced reformer repertoire - well there was absolutely no need to go there at all 😂🤪🫣.

That was so much fun … looking forward to my next trip back 🥰.

After training and competing across multiple sports throughout my life, I learnt the hard way that strength in one sport doesn’t mean your body is balanced. Niggles became more chronic and I spent months trying to alleviate the discomfort. Then I discovered Pilates and everything changed.

Now I help active people move Stronger, more Efficiently, and with Confidence so you don’t waste time fixing what you can PREVENT!

The one rep drill (one rep of each of the 34 classical mat exercises ) is a great way to make sure you move each day with or without access to equipment . In the video I am practising 3 reps - sped up of course 😏because one never seems enough ! In 3 reps I can find a rhythm that enables me find a ‘mind body connection’. I live my day normally rushed and frenetic so in my practice I like to take it slow . It’s the perfect antecdote.

Regularly practice also serves as a reminder of how we should connect the work in all the other pieces of equipment in the studio to the original matwork as was intended by Joseph Pilates .

Consistency matters .

Self practice is key to being a better teacher .

Remembering that time in Bruges when I had a 1:1 with my teacher .logan . She was already such an incredibly motivating , dynamic and accomplished teacher online, but in person your vibe was tangible. Seeing and experiencing your passion firsthand was so impactful to me and all those in the room.

The highlight of my session was when you magically (unknown to me!) guided me to the ‘Wrestlers Bridge” . So fun 🤩

Pilates is a practice, you need CONSISTECY and in time the work is life changing . These amazing ladies turn up each week and are committed to learning the exercises so that they can flow and become more confident and feel stronger.

18months ago I was told that I should give up running due to too many pathologies in my right foot. During this time, I focused on swimming and a lot of time in my studio practising whilst training for my Classical certification. I felt stronger and more aligned and so I have gradually begun to run again, not excessively, just enough so I can enjoy a run like today with my daughter. Through my consistent Pilates practice, I have learnt so much more about my body, its limitations, its strengths and what it needs to recover. Because I am aware of the of affects of a run on my body, a good post run Pilates practice is essential. I know that through this, my body will rebalance, recover and refresh.
