Our green at Stoke Park opened for the new season on Saturday18 April and we were lucky enough to hold our opening drive for Club members under sunny skies. It was good to be back on the green.

What a weekend at Stoke Park Bowling Club! 🎉

Finals Weekend gave us two brilliant days of bowling, with players battling it out in great spirits for the club competitions and championships, through the sunshine and the rain.

A big thank you to Gareth for pulling it all together as competition secretary, and to everyone who pitched in to make it run so smoothly.

Among the many victories, a big well done to our new Women’s and Men’s champions, Bec and Larry! 🏆

🏆 Champions! 🏆
Stoke Park have won the West Surrey BA Friday Night League Final, clinching a dramatic 14–13 victory over last year’s champions, Camberley.

Well played to Bob Hatwell, Larry Webster, Gareth G. Alesbury, and skip Mark Medhurst, who led the team to victory in both the final and semifinal (against Woodbridge Hill). Credit also to the rest of the squad and all 29 teams who competed this season.

Open-top bus parade date TBC. 🚌🎉

It’s all smiles between Castle Green’s captain Sima and Stoke Park’s Dick Humphrey after a hotly contested annual battle for the Millennium Trophy. It went down to the wire, with Stoke Park winning by 66 shots to 60, meaning we hold on to the crystal vase for the fourth consecutive year.

A busy weekend for Stoke Park started with a trip to Farnham in the Sapphire Cup and West Surrey Saturday League. Farnham triumphed in the cup game despite some spirited efforts, particularly from the skips on a speedy green. Meanwhile, Stoke Park won two of the three rinks in the League match, but were pipped to the overall score win owing to a heavy defeat on the losing rink. C'est la vie.

Sunday brought Mayford Hall to the Stoke Park Pavillion ground. The result was very tight - so I’m told (I wasn’t there so your guess is as good as mine as to who won, but I’m sure it was a fine game played in good spirits).
