We are trialling a new sand for the bunkers, China Clay Sand. It has very good binding properties and so we are trying to use a compactor plate to firm the original sand down, then putting 3-4 inches of the new sand and compacting this too. We have 30 Ton of it and hoping to get around 8 bunkers done with this, we have completed 8 & 15, and we will be looking to do the 1st and 2nd next.

Visited as a 3 ball as part of a golfing weekend and we were honestly a bit sceptical about playing here before we arrived just going off of the images we had seen on the website (doesn't do it justice) and it being on the cheaper end of the spectrum for non member friendly golf in the area.
Thankfully we were blown away with the quality of the course despite the grass scorching heat we've had this summer.
It's a wide open course with staggered tee boxes and short forgiving rough, any balls that miss the fairway can easily be found and played, every green has some nice terrain to it which we loved because playing on a flat green every hole gets boring quickly, definitely the highlight of the course, hats off to the greenkeeper.
The back 9 that plays around the quarry is a challenge but brilliant to play, you think you've seen everything the course has to offer and then you're suddenly teeing off to a green over a ravine, quality stuff.
Yes it lacks facilities such as a range, putting green, decent toilets / changing rooms but once you get out on the course you'll soon put that all behind you.
The club house is small with plenty of outdoor covered seating, it also has a kitchen although we didn't get to use it as it was shut, it's basic but if you just want a bite to eat halfway round it will do the job I'm sure.
It's a great place for newbies to start due to the wide fairways but also a challenge for experienced players with loads of bunkers and undulating greens to navigate.
Worth mentioning the fantastic scorecards this course uses, never used one with so much detail on it.
