Dance really brought the Around the World Theme to life today with; Gemma Coldicotts piece in response to the Willow Globe, Amina Khayyam's beautiful storytelling through Kathak and Nicky Norton putting smiles on everyone's faces with some Polynesion dances with fab props, best Golden Years Festival yet!

A massive thank you to all the staff and volunteers who made the Golden Years Festival fantastic despite the high winds nearly blowing us all away!

Great day spent with Surrey Dance Collective meeting choreographers for a new commission. Who knew ironing boards could a)be so versatile b)be so emotional!!

So excited the 2012 Big Dance - Celebration of Dance for older people has grown into this amazing cross art form, annual festival, this year promises to be even bigger and better but with all the same charm and friendly faces.

Delighted that the Pargiter Trust has support this years Golden Years Festival with a grant which will enable us to commission a new dance work and a willow globe for the festival in response to this years theme of 'The World' as well as workshops before the festival to learn part of the dance work and create work for the globe and as part of the Borough and Districts Ageing Well Festivals. Wonderful mentoring sessions today led by Anne Colvin in Guildford and Walton for artists and activity coordinators in Creative Seated Dance for participants with Dementia. Plus some photos from the brilliant second training day with Carly Marchant, all very concentrated but then don't get carried away ladies!
